Super cool game! I love the simplicity and the cute pixel art graphics. I made it through the end and I truly enjoyed, yay!

Just as a comment, in my view it would be great to have a health bar to be able to see if you want to take the risk sometimes and make a better time.

Well done!

Hey! Thanks for playing, i'm happy you got through to the end. Yeah, the shield around the player was meant to represent health but I think it was far too subtle.

Cheers for the feedback :)

Hey this was pretty cool and it also worked very well! I believe that I came to the last boss but was not sure what to hit after destroying one moon, find my gameplay video below:

Glad you enjoyed it :) haha you were so close to finishing it!!! There's another moon on the other side of the room; destroying both ends the game.

A simple, yet very smart, idea goes a long way, and it shows with this. There is crazy potential with this mechanic, and I will do my best to credit you when I inevitably steal it for one of my projects! ;)

I even liked the monochromatic and simple aesthetic. Sound effects were basic, but got the job done. Overall, no major issues that haven't been addressed. Enjoyed it very much. Well done!

That's so kind, thank you. Hahah go for it, can't wait to see how you else this mechanic can be used :)

This is really good!  I agree with the others, that shield idea is pretty unique, and goodness knows, that's a hard thing to do these days.  I was immediately like "Oooo, wanna try this!"  A little music would add to this, but totally get it, it's a game jam, can't get everything you want in a month :).  However, there are no licensing problems with me throwing some John Williams on as I play xD.

Only thing I'd mention is the jump control.  It seemed to me that if you didn't get right off that spacebar, the double jump triggered automatically, and a bit before the peak of the 1st jump.

Good stuff!

hey! Yeah completely agree with your feedback and i'm really happy you enjoyed it :-)

The shield mechanic of this game was really fun to use! The audio was a bit much at times, such as being able to hear stuff from like really far away and the rapid explosion of the boss enemies at the end, but those didn't make the game any less fun. I had a blast playing through it, and I think the game is a great difficulty and game length for a game jam!

Glad you enjoyed it!!

I really like the shield mechanic that's a great idea

Neat game! I like the shield mechanic that makes it more of a pacifist survival game than a traditional shooter. However, I do wish I had a health bar of some sort. It was kind of a bummer to die out of nowhere with no indication that you were close to death. Nevermind, I noticed in a later playthrough that the opacity of your shield was your "health" indicator. That probably could have been made more obvious. Either way, I liked the idea and the pixel art was cool. Good job!

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback :)

I love the shield deflecting the little bullets, super cool mechanic. I wish there was more different ways to use it like deflecting things at switches or something, even being able to fully destroy the droids would be nice.

I died a lot coz I'm bad, but it was good fun.

Developer

Hey! I agree, using the mechanic in different ways would have improved the game a lot. Thanks for the feedback :)
