I really enjoyed this game, the gameplay is engaging yet not too difficult. There was a lot happening on the screen though, and sometimes things were hard to keep track of. Overall a fun experience!

There were some really interesting puzzle concepts here.  The game looks amazing as well.  Mouse controls might make the experience a bit more manageable, especially in later chaotic levels (but I know this is likely a limitation with Pico-8)

Love this game. Interesting puzzles, simple and clear art, and nice music. There are a couple tweaks that I think could make it even better though:

1. There's no way to pause while playing. When the robot is talking you can press enter or P to pause, but in game that action gets replaced by another, switching the tile you're placing. I think you should maintain the pause ability and move tile-switching somewhere else.

2. It's a bit hard to see some changes you have to make. There comes a point where the changes are very minute, and the parts move so fast, and the changes are so small, it becomes a bit frustrating. It would be nice if there was a way to scale it up, or slow the speed. Would be helpful for people who have visual disabilities too.

3. Tile switching can be easier using the mouse scroll. Mouse controls make this game so much smoother, but you still need to keyboard to change tiles. Would be great to be able to use the mouse scroll action to switch between tiles.

Aside from that, the sound of the robot is a bit grating, and there some momentary glitches where tiles appear where they shouldn't. This is all just constructive feedback though, overall I really enjoyed this game.

Quite interesting game here! I liked the art style and the gameplay in general. I liked the dialogue box and the little animations! The music was a bit too loud, but obviously I just had to lower my own volume. Great concept! Keep it up!

This game is absolutely amazing. I liked the writing, I liked the art, and the gameplay is great! But most of all, the music is what really sold me. Really nice job, keep up the good work!

Thanks! The music is taken from a music pack available for pico8 devs by @gruber_music so I'd give them a listen! They are really awesome musician!

Great presentation, I enjoyed the writing, and smart use of the start button to give an extra button.

Thanks! I love using enter as a seventh button, closer to what an NES controller has and makes interfaces less complex to use.

It was really clever! You've definitely inspired me to use it in one of my future projects :)

The game is exciting, I would like to play this on my phone while I drive to work)

Planning for mobile devices?

Developer

Thanks! Right now looking to bug fix and add more levels.

Amazing game! Just the idea of an art factory game itself is genius, and the execution is top-notch.

Just a random player passing through: I enjoyed the game, thanks for finishing something!

Not much in the way of helpful criticism to offer except for the bugs you already seem to know about of blocks sometimes appearing randomly misplaced on a different line.

Cheers! :-)

thanks! yeah the bugs got in the way of this project. I'll try to fix them but some of the systems need a rework.

I liked it a lot. There were some bugs but so long as I had 2 blocks between machines everything seemed to work :)

Developer

Thanks! that's about my thoughts bug testing, tho I want the project to be bug free eventually.

great game, fun to play but music is very harsh.

Thanks! Agree about the placeholder music. will try to find a more fitting track.
