I started Maki Beast last year but school and work made it hard to actually finish. I made a finished game eventually but it wasn't very good so I decided to revamp it and make it right this time and I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out!

Great job! The music was probably my favorite element all in all, but there really isn't a weak link here. The concept is great, and it's executed fantastically, with emotive sprite work, responsive controls, and great feedback effects. If I had one note, I might suggest speeding up the player's walk just a bit, but that's down to personal preference. Amazing work!

Awesome game!  The visuals and music are so good.  And the idea of being a character whose main ability is picking up and throwing not only objects, but also enemies, is incredible.  I hope to see more with this project!

The only negative thing I have to say is that the dying / save system could be a little better.  When you die you get sent all the way back to the main menu, which feels a little weird.

This worked very well and I will come back to this game in the future I am sure! Great job man! I couldn't win at the first boss and gave up but find my video review below:

very fun to play, art was great and music was too. Nothing to say that everyone else hasn't already. But i would like to just mention that the lowest music setting was still quite loud for me. maybe have it range more with a slider  or something more dynamic.

It is really fun! The combat mechanic is very interesting, I liked you having to look for the weapon. The only 2 things I would add are some indicator on the item you are picking, like a white ouline, and maybe make the roll be a tiny bit faster, so it feels smoother when you transtition from rolling to picking up an item. Overall, had a really good time playing it :)

Oh, and the music, it is awesome.

This is great. It feels like a full game already. The combat is innovative with an interesting mechanic, and overall the game is just fun.

This was actually really well made, as well as really hard. The combat style is very difficult as you won't always have an immediate weapon, kudos to you. My favorite part about it was probably the music, very nice music.

Thanks! I’m so happy you enjoyed it.

I had a blast helping Ghost Meat with the music. I always liked rogue-likes and having the opportunity to compose was a great way to start the year. The game is quite fun and challenging, give it a try!
