  • PROS: Concept is very cool, and a great mechanic.  Worth you working on this more.
CONS: Controls are difficult and need work.  Game is a little too hard initially. Tutorial of some kind would be good.

How long has this Project been going?
The first character, Rocco Billy, was born in winter 2016, protagonist of the never developed game "Broccoli from outer space". I used him again in another never developed game: "Rocco Billy Rumorista". The second one, Jack Lumber, was born in summer 2017 for an almost developed game which maybe will be someday published, called "Cut & Plant" . I then put them together in another undeveloped project called "Honeyquest". After some changing, it became this game which I finished in a couple of week of work.

Hah! I loved it!

Plays quite well and it's very innovative! Congratulations!

(c'mon, you knew this was coming)

Developer

Thanks! XD

The Rocco level was a lot of fun but I couldn't figure out the Jack level.  I couldn't consistently chop down trees.  Sometimes they dropped in one chop other times it seemed to take 5 or 6.

Thanks very much!!  For the Jack level... it's weird. I have no idea. Maybe the chopping was too much far away from the trees.

Well done, BRO!

That was an interesting concept. Took me longer than it should have to realize each whistle cost 1 heart (of which you start with 1) though.

Developer

Thanks!

Great result for your first project, and I love the idea!  You should work on this more, it needs some balancing I think, controls and difficulty need a bit of work.

Developer

Thanks! The balancing is definitely something I'll work out.

Great pixel art, although I would have liked it a bit more if it was brighter. And the game is indeed pretty hard. Oh a scippable intro would also be cool.

Developer

Thanks a lot! I'm happy that you liked the art. The difficulty problem is something I'll manage as soon as possible. The intro is skippable pressing the left or right arrow

Submitted

Ah, that's it. Add space and Esc to this list, as they are much more intuitive.

I loved the pixel art of the dudes! The game in itself was a bit too difficult for myself :O

Developer(+1)

Thanks!! It's my first serious project so probably is not a well balanced game at all. I hope to do better in the future

I would say that it is not actually too hard, but has some major difficulty spikes.

Developer

Yeah, probably it would be better spread the difficulty on more levels. The problem is that the free version of construct 2,  the program I used, has a lot of restrictions. I reached the limit with the two levels I published.

Check out Unity. I was on GMS 2 just a month ago, but then decided to give Unity a go. It turned out to be MUCH better in everything!

Developer

Yeah, I know. I'm beginning to use it for my next project
