Theme incorporation
I have implemented the theme Solitude (and a bit of cosmic horror). In the game, the player finds himself alone in an ancient cave, which is guarded by weird creatures. When the player teleports to the second level, the solitude and cosmic horror are more apparent as in the second level there is absolutely nothing - the player experience complete loneliness, he is not able to see anything (unfathomable realm, cosmic horror) but is able to feel (hear) the walls and the structure of the dungeon. This second level starts when the player reaches the teleport cell (glowing red knot).
Win condition - the player reaches the second teleport cell (glowing purple knot) which is in the second level.

Nice entry, movement itself was nice, but felt weird having smooth movement combined with snapping rotation. Would be nice to have those be consistent one way or the other.

Gameplay was simple enough, combat was easy to understand, although when you have higher damage weapons there doesn’t seem to be any reason to use anything but your biggest damage item.

would be cool to see this developed further post-jam.

Movement was quick and easy to understand, but for some reason I got motion sickness when moving around. It was some interference with the plain wall textures and the movement that just didn't work for me. The graphics looks AI but works. The use of all corners of the screen made it a bit strange to click all buttons. Would like to have it playable without the mouse maybe. Combat was pretty fast and deterministic, but it felt a bit slow compared to the general movement in the dungeon.

I beat it! First off, the controls/handling movement is great. Nice and snappy, well implemented. I managed to find some weapons and a bunch of potions which made it easy, which is fine but it was good that my exploration was rewarded.

Combat was very basic, I wish there was more to it, like some skills other than just trading attacks back and forth and you should be able to use items in combat too to get some health back. The dungeons themselves were a bit empty outside of the handful of enemies and items, so I'd like to see more things to do than just walk around and whack enemies (traps, puzzles etc). While I was saved by my 2 vision potions on the second part of the game, the 'tone' sound was very jarring, I think this could have been handled better by almost any other basic punch type sound to indicate you have hit a wall. I'm also thinking if I did not have the vision potions, I would have given up very quickly, I don't think I would have liked the being blind section.

Thanks for the review, will try to improve upon these in future!

I have successfully navigated through the depths of the ancient cave.

The game was fun. It controls well, movement feels good and I like the wall textures. Combat does not waste your time and the dark world with invisible walls and echolocation was a fun twist, I enjoyed advancing my way into the end of this second dungeon.

I agree with the person saying the combat music clashed a bit, it's weird because it's kind of mundane but it crossed my mind too when I stumbled into it.

Thanks for sharing!

A nice and simple entry! The combat was a little generic and the RNG felt a little unfair to die to when I could only click an attack button but, I did manage to beat it!

Hi, Thanks for the stream, definitely took a note of the feedback, will try to improve upon these in my future jams!

Like others have said, the movement was satisfying. Also the wall texture was nice; I just wish there was a little variety so I could tell some hallways and rooms apart from each other. I liked the somber background music, but the combat music clashed too much in comparison.

Thanks for the review! Will definitely improve upon these in my future jams :)

I liked the old school feel of it, probably something about end of 90-s graphics and movement when 3d was becoming a true 3d and textures started to get more detailed, but not yet try to be realistic.

Completed the game pretty quick and want to point out interesting choice of instant rotations and smooth movement, it felt snappy and nice.

Thanks, I am glad you like it!

Oh, I liked the snappy movement. Nice music and many items to play with. But it got pretty hard, pretty fast. Needs a little bit of balancing, but I know how tough that is in a jam.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I am glad you enjoyed the game. I appreciate your comments about the difficulty level and will definitely consider this for future jams :)

Really good overall! great presentation and great power-scaling so long as you go down the right path (my 1st time wasn't fun :P). Loved the weapon variety, although having a cool-down or something would've made the desicion to use a weaker weapon more appealing. Also, I think it really needs a mini-map or some distincitive features whenever you reach some points. It's really hard to tell yourself where you'd gone - I ended up spinning pretty much in place for a while.

Also, wasn't a fan of the all-dark portion.... but, thanks for putting in the 45s potion <3. Managed to completed due to that. Great work!!!

Hey there!

The movement and speed felt great, but smoother turning would be even better. There's a bug where holding a movement key grants super speed! I loved finding the different weapons with fantastic art, but some combat feedback like hit effects would be nice.  Getting lost was a big issue for me since the similar-looking tiles made it hard to remember where I'd been. Maybe  a mini-map could help? Overall, these are just some suggestions, and I enjoyed playing!

Developer

Hi, I am happy you enjoyed the game. I agree with your feedback, but the super speed is actually a feature, and not a bug . Yeah, I also got lost while testing it many times (although I designed the dungeons lol), and for this reason I have a link to the map in the game description. In game map would be nice - but I didn't had enough time for this (as I didn't used any engine to develop this game).
