Theme incorporation
The game focuses on an isolated character alone in an abandoned hotel. This explores isolation, and the main character is afflicted with a curse that has mutated his mind and split his personality into powerful but uncontrollable eldritch forces. These themes make up the main "party" of fractured personalities.

The hotel is run down and ruined, but that was not our main theme exploration.

The opening screen provides backstory for what has happened and why the main character is going to the hotel.

The game's party system also revolves around one character in the center.

Cool Entry! At first I felt a bit lost because I didn't know if I was this character or the party, but it became clear after a few deaths. It is nice that you don't have to start over on death. The movement speed could be a tad faster, but it was not painful to move. I am not sure what the ability did, but I clicked them anyway!

This was very good.  Only two nit-picks.

Because you're always unlocking new personas, that makes the first section the most challenging.  Once I got past that the rest was easy.

And it was a little annoying that I couldn't wait to let enemies approach me so they usually got first strike.  There was one time two of them overlapped which surprised me.  They struck in unison.

But over-all, very well done.

This game was cool, I like the idea of being taken over by these personas at each level. I didn't see much difference when switching between these roles though, so if they were more fleshed out I think the idea could be really fun.

Like others have said, the vending machine and ice machine idea was pretty clever too. I also didn't mind the reading like another commenter here had mentioned. I felt like it was fine tbh but that might just be a personal opinion.

Fun game, I'd love to see what more comes from it!

Fun game! Has a nice and weird vibe to it. I like the vending machines restoring your stats with coins, it's a pretty fun and fitting way to heal resources. Combat seems both simple and complex at the same time, there's lots of options but I mostly just spammed the all-attack and hit up the health vending machine whenever I would get low.

I think the movement could use a continous move mode, as there's currently a lot of buttonspamming needed to move around.

Good stuff!

Nice little game. But there is a lot of reading. The text is helping but there is just to much of it so it kinda covers the actual gameplay. The enemies hit hard and the combat was a bit uncertain, a bit hard to undertand.

Graphics is great and music works well.

Nice entry to the jam!

Interesting premise with the split personalities, which take over. When I had all of them together the battles felt nice and empowering. The graphic were nice, but could have fit the mood a little bit better. The token collection sound was funny :)
Maybe improve the controls a bit, for example with input buffering.
Solid entry!
Edit: I forgot to mention that I loved your tutorial stuff, adding the text in the world at the beginning and the overlay, which explains the UI...great!

Developer

A lot of the sound effects were my teammate making noises and warping them around in an editor! If I had to do it over again I would have implemented a lot of the QOL movement stuff others have put in far earlier in development. Thanks for playing!

This was cool.

I am extra fan of entries which feature a mechanical implementation of the theme. And I had a special interest in playing your game with multiple personnalities as a party since it was one of my two choices even if I ended up implementing the other.

Art is unique, which is pretty nice. I really like that combat plays as fast you click.

Then I guess movement could also work as fast as you click. It's fine, don't get me wrong, but it still gives me a weird, bad feeling when I press movement keys and the party don't walk as many tiles ahead.

This is cool entry, thanks for sharing.

That was weird.

I wound up quite happy that "Esc" gave me the controls.

Took me a bit to slay the doggies.

And I made it all the way to become a Rouge.

Solid entry.

I like the art style.

Sorta like Wolfenstein Cthulhu.

This is very well put together.  It seemed a bit on the complex side at first (with all that text) but it just walks you through nicely.
I like the art style too.  It looks very cohesive, and gives me a nice creepy feeling.
Well done!

This was very nice, very nice indeed! Had a rocky start the first time around, dying pretty easily, but then I figured out the proper way to approach combat and managed to get through all the levels and beat the big blobby boss :D

Nice concept, taking a classic 4man party and turning it into personality aspects. Combat was pretty good, my only gripe was that movement could've been either a bit snappier or support queueing (but it's not a big deal).

An above average entry, well done!

What a great level of polish! I had a blast playing through your game. I loved the art style, the very clean UI, especially the poor guy in the center. It was a bit easy, I never had to buy ice, but that's good for a jam game. Love the Dungeon Crawler jam decal on the wall near the end. Would have enjoyed a little more variety of enemies, especially the last boss, but I enjoyed this one a lot. Great game!

Are there shortcut keys to launch the different attacks? It would be nice to play the whole game with the keyboard only.
