From wife:
The music, the visuals, the atmosphere - everything perfectly fit together in harmony. Would greatly love to play with more levels, more tasks, more recipes. So much potential!

Wonderful game, I love the art direction of this game. The character portraits really shine and blend well with the 3d models. Plus farming your own crops to then make products to sell. Nice little gameplay loop. Great work! - Mato

Highly rated, I think this is a charming game with lots to love. The interactions to bargain goods was interesting, I don't know how I managed to weasel $26 for a Pumpkin Spice latte hah. I was playing the WebGL version and it was a BIT sluggish, most notably when doing the recipe challenge. It took a few minutes to get the timing down and keep gathering more resources. I think an improvement could be to have all the recipes visible or only the ones that are producible be shown so you can reduce the time flipping through pages. but overall just a great game that I was more than happy to spend 8 minutes earning $ in. Great Job!

Thank you for the feedback! We spent almost the entire time getting the game in working order, so we didn't have much time to balance things like you have suggested. Making cooking a little bit more doable is something we definitely should have done in hindsight. I tested it on my mac after we published it and cooking was basically unplayable it ran so slowly haha

This is such a beautiful and polished game and the blend of 2D and 3D art is gorgeous. The animations and music go well together, too. The mini game can be challenging but cool. I did notice a tiny bug in the labeling of some crops at times. For example, a wheat crop being labeled "Pumpkin" although it did go to the wheat count. Nevertheless, a very beautiful game with exceptional art. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much! That bug is actually not a bug - just some poor UI. We set the game up so that when you harvest a crop, a new, random seed is instantly planted in its place. The label shows you what the new seed is, and not what you just harvested. We thought it would add clarity, but it ended up looking a little janky in retrospect.

Submitted

Ah, that makes sense and I can see how the label is helpful. Not janky at all! Such an impressive game, especially for a game jam! Well done!

What a lovely idea! I think the theme was handled really well, this was so very cozy. The adherence to the optional one room rule definitely added to the cozy factor... seems so nice to have a quaint little coffee shop on such a busy  street! I felt the cooking minigame was a little difficult for me to master, but overall I liked all the systems in play here. Bonus points for the mini schnauzer latte art!

Developer

Thank you for recognizing the greatness of mini schnauzers :)

Love the style of this game. It's super cute! All the character portraits were great, and I love the way the little pawns hopped around.

super cozy game

amazing 2d and 3d art designs

loved the growing mechanic

Cute game, the character portraits and UI elements were very clean.

Interesting decision to not let the player choose what gets replanted in the garden. I think it added to the experience since you have to make use of what resources you're given

Developer

Thank you! Initially we were going to set up a system where the player had to buy more seeds, but ran out of time to implement it. Glad it worked out regardless!

Super nice game!

I love low-poly style, so it's an absolute win for me, but I was amazed at how good the character portraits and food icons look! Fantastic art!

It really feels that the UI got lot's of love during development. From the recipe changing, to the seamless portrait transitions while bartering, everything is super smooth, and feels real nice.

The music is also really nice and fitting.

Developer

Thank you so much! We probably dedicated the most amount of time to the visual aspects, so I'm glad to hear it paid off!

Lovely game with lots of nice artwork.

Developer

Thank you!!

Awesome game! I really enjoy the NPC's walking down the street, I am terrible at cooking though.

Developer

Thanks so much! And honestly, we are too. Probably should have made it a little bit more forgiving, but we ran out of time to do any real fine tuning in that aspect.
