Nice start to a driving sim.

For feedback: The setting is really cool driving/hovering around in the futuristic cloudscape.  For the state of tech (and the fact that there was a speedometer on screen), I felt we should have been able to move much much faster.  The number of islands it quite large so it might be nice to have an in-game map to at least have the overall scope of how many places there are which can be hard to keep track of while moving around.  One idea to help give the player some reference might be split the total areas into a few zones, and each zone have slightly different color themes...or at least the roadway lines are different colors for each zone.  It might also be nice to somehow mark off the path that we've driven on so we can tell what roads we've never traveled on yet.

From a gameplay perspective, I think it would be a good idea to have a couple of the target pickup items be found very quickly near the start of the game.  This would be almost a tutorial to show us that all items can be picked up on the road.  When I got to one of the hub/switching stations, my first thought was to drive over onto the island to look for items...of course I fell off....and was falling for a long time with no reset.  I had to 'ctrl+alt+del' to end task and start over.   If you do have a reset collider below, it needs to allow for a reset much faster.  I think the most player should wait is about 3-4 seconds of falling.

The environment is well constructed and the music set a great mood.

Thank you much for detailed review!

We must have had a map indeed, but just run out of time :( I added it to the game page, so people could gave a slight idea of where to go, but it should have been in the game with implemented UI.
And collider is there, i don't know how it lowered that much =\

Thanks for playing!

I just checked out the game page.  Map looks great.  Knowing where the different numbered intersections lead to is very helpful to map out getting from one place to another.

I wish we just had one more day to integrate it to the UI. Always some stuff getting left behind )

Wow cool truck and environment design! The islands in the sky are definitely dream-like. I could definitely see a full title built on this concept and visual style, it's lovely.

Developer

Oh, thank you!

gives me mario cart rainbow road vibes, the world looks beautiful. vary nice and fitting music, although a map wouldn't hurt.

at first it was hard figuring out what to do. it's a big world so you get kind of lost at first,

maybe you should add a tutorial or something like that.

overall super chill and interesting project.well done!.

Thanks!

This is such an ambitious project! ^^ Everything about this is gorgeous and all together it's such a great vibe. The music goes with the setting so well, and those clouds are stunning. I love the attention to detail with the island's design matching resources too.

I've been playing for over a couple of hours now, I haven't managed to get everything for the festival because I keep falling off :') and the reset doesn't seem to help put me back onto the road? so I've been hard resetting. Is there a way to reset to the road if you fall off?

Adding lore stuff in-between would have been awesome, your scope for this project was huge haha, It's such a perfect game to listen to a podcast while playing (which is why I keep falling off I think -_-) my furthest before falling off was at the end of day 4 ^^ I want to beat it though so please let me know if I'm doing the reset wrong

I am so glad you liked it!

Eventually falling off the road would trigger spawning on the central island with unloading all your stock to it and 1 day passed, but the trigger zone somehow resetted to a very low point (you will hit it. eventually). Resetting was supposed to turn your truck if it has fallen on the roof (first iterations would do this on every slope), but we somehow fixed it and it remained kinda misleading.
But, you can use it to hack falling - every reset set the truck 1m higher, so... reset-reset-reset-reset + going forward the track :D

In lore version of the game that fell out of scope you would drive with robot assistant, who would help you not to fall off the track, but we set too much for the time we could spent :')

I wish paths were shorter or the vehicle faster, because it feels like I spent a lot of time travelling, but the game looks really cool, and the music is relaxing. Good work! (btw, they allowed us to upload a version of our game without the UI blocking the game, so if you want to give our game another try, now its playable!)

Developer

Thanks for feedback! I will certainly try out non blocking UI version :)

We wanted to fill up space with other entertaining lore-wise obstacles + traffic but the scope was too big for the amount of time we could spent I guess ))

The goal is to deliver different goods for the autumn festival on the central island, specifically:

  • 20 bottles of apple cider and 20 bottles of pear cider.
  • 20 apple pies, 20 pumpkin pies and 20 berry pies
  • 80 crates of apples, 60 crates of pears, 100 pumpkins and 60 sack of berries
  • 1 m^3 of stones and 2 m^3 of woods
  • Music instruments for musicians

Controls:

WASD or Triggers + Right Stick to control the truck.

Left Stick or Arrow keys to look around.

R or Gamepad West to reset truck in case of emergency.
