It's a enjoyable game, but too generic for me, it needs something that makes it unique in my opinion -> the story is reallyh nice, but the gameplay doesn't adapt to it. I find the game too easy, it maybe needs more ennemis (or nerf the guns idk). The notifications are helpfull to understand what's going on but they take to much space on the screen. It's still a good submission, i'm just pointing out what i would personnaly change!

Thanks for the honesty. This is definitely not a game I'm happy with because I had to cut out the interesting pause and rewind mechanics along with a few other interesting abilities. Unfortunately they weren't working consistently enough and I decided to submit a boring working game instead of an interesting idea that no one could play.  Maybe next time.

Really cool art and enjoyable game. I liked the upgrade DNA mechanic and I was so happy that they fly to you without having to walk up and grab them. Really nice touch.

This is great! The DNA Mechanic was cool, but could've been used that you got random upgrades, instead of a set upgrade for every bar you filled. Great game nonetheless I liked it a TON!!!

I really enjoyed the DNA mechanic. Found myself watching the bar fill up and wondering what I would earn next. Makes total sense to pick up random DNA on the wasteland. Really enjoyed the fact that the hero is carrying the tape with them. The trail effects were cool too.

I wish I could have made it to the store! I went through three iterations of the boss hoping I would get close. 

Loved the character art.

Nice bullet-hell/shooter. Hilarious intro story. Funny how collecting DNA boosts your weapon and shield :) Cool sprite art also.

Yeah, originally it was going to affect vision/hearing (by updating graphics/sound), your speed (by letting you move and shoot faster), your strength (life), a psychic ability (enemy and bullet knock back), and a the ability to rewind time.  At the last minute I took out everything interesting because it was working a bit too wonky. The bosses wouldn't rewind properly and the knock back was pretty much doing the same thing as rewind, so it got scraped so that I could rush music and sounds.

I liked the trail effect on the items sucking into you!  Also the colors and lighting were really nice.  The VHC back was cool too~  I wonder how many people these days don't know the phrase 'please be kind and rewind' lol.  Please check out 'Puma Cat' It's also a topdown shooter~

The player character art was really good, and the bosses looked pretty neato too!

I think I would have liked to have been physically exploring a space trying to find the video store, but I can totally see that as something that was lost to time constraints.

Suggestion: Rather than having me press space to make the notifications go away, why not just have that disappear after a few seconds? I guess a potential problem is the player might miss what they said, but I found myself forgetting to press space to clear the notifications after a while.

I also liked the twist ending.

The difficulty scaling is really well done for the little amount of enemies there are.

I think if you cold have maybe made 2 bosses at the end (if it would have worked) it would have been a perfect difficulty end!

Very solid though, especially for a jam's amount of time
