It feels a little jank. The lack of a sword animation makes it tough the gauge melee range. The second boss was too easy and the third boss got a bit easy in its second phase where it sends out the faces. The artwork, is pretty good though.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah I couldn't make a sword swing animation without it looking like it was floating.  And yeah all art was made by Wink.

I like the music, i miss to have more animations and more game fell. but tthe rest was very nice

Developer

Feedback taken. Thanks again for palying!

Nice game, it took awhile for me to find out that the sword actually did anything though

Developer(+1)

Oh ok, yeah I didn't really know how to make it clear that you are hitting other than making the boss take damage. The sword does have an animation though. Thank you for playing!

I totally understand as it is a short amount of time to make a game. Good job anyways!

Cool game! I like the concept of a boss rush game. It's not a good decision not to save. If you die it's frustrating to start all over again, It's too hard for new players who dont want to practise. Maybe some playtesting would have helped. I like the graphics. The gameplay could be smoother. If the character gets hit by something the player wants to know what hit him. Because of that the developer has to provide feedback like a flashing player, screen shake, some fire particles if it was a fireball or a punch animation for the boss so that the player knows why he lost. Otherwise the game feels a little bit unfair to the player. With a litttle bit more polish it would have been an extremely good game.

But still a very cool game.

(These are only suggestions to make the game better. I dont think your game is bad. It is not by any means. And I should have provided more feedback for the player i my game too.)

Developer(+1)

Yeah I definetly understand.  I really wanted to implement player feedback but I was pretty tired for the end of the day and added as much as I could (Sound effects, bug fixes, tutorial, story) and mentally didn't really have enough energy top create much more. But I 100% agree with you, player feedback really needed to be more clear. Yeah I think one problem with the game is that I knew all the bosses attack patterns and was pretty experienced with them, I did have some people playtest and I am glad I did, I made the game a lot easier, and to me that was my main reason not to implement saving, well that and besides once again I was getting pretty tired. So yeah I definetly cut some corners, but in the end I am glad you had fun!

It's completely Ok to be tired and not to have a perfect game. It's a cool game and the boss patterns are really interesting. You have many cool things in your game. You should be very proud to have a working game! I didn't even manage to add sound effects to my game

Really nice artwork.

Developer

Thanks! All artwork was made by Wink.

The game is nice but the thing is that if you fail once you have to restart from the beginning.

Also, why does the bird teleports back to the beginning every time he completes a level ?

Developer(+1)

Yeah since the game is so small having it start at each boss either becomes too easy for the player or boring but I may change it when the jam ends. The bird goes back to the beginning because I accidently plugged in the same Vector2 for all  the bosses XD.  Anyways I hope you had fun playing our game :D

It´s so nice and the story at the beginning is very well written.

Playing was fun!

Keep developing such cool games please :)

Thank you for the nice comment! The story was written by Wink (other developer for this game).  Also (If you finish the game there is an ending to the story too).

Hah!

´cause of your comment I tried my best and defeated the squirrel, I got the ending and wow it´s really cool and well written!

Developer(+1)

Wow good job! Thank you, it really means a lot! Once again all story was written by Wink.

But as I see Wink didn´t upload any project, did he?  (or did I find the wrong page maybe)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Wink doesn't have an itch.io account so he couldn't upload it. The one you saw must of been a different person with the same username.

Fun game, I liked the art style and music. But I suck at video games, so couldn't get pass 3rd boss. Was fun though, first time playing a boss rush game. (That's what the genre is called, right?)

Developer(+1)

Thank you, all art was made by Wink. A tip for the third boss is just to first treat it like the other two where you just let it follow you and you drop rainclouds and throw rocks, but when it reaches it's second phase, you can either find a safe distance and use the sword or just keep throwing rocks until it gets up at the end. Also yeah the genre is in fact boss rush.

This game was awesome! I really enjoyed playing it! Do you mind rating my game when you have the chance?

Developer

Thank you!

Very nice boss battles. With a bit of polish this could become really good game

Thank you! Yeah I attempted to add post processing but it slowed the game down a lot. Although I could always make a downloadable version with post processing.

Very cool and very cute! I've never seen a boss-rush game with a cutesy setting. It's a bit like Happy Tree Friends, but less violent lol. But a cute and wholesome story nonetheless.

A bit of feedback though: I never really found a reason to use my sword. The bosses were fun, but they could all just be kited around and shot at from a distance.

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind feedback! Yeah my main goal for this jam was making my game fun. Yeah the sword if more for things like speedrunning as it does a lot more damage than the rock. But yeah thanks again for commenting and playing!

The graphics could be better, the music too, buuuuuut the bosses are just SO fun to battle against ! We can the the balancing effort you put into this game ! Great work overall ;)

Developer

Thank you! Yeah there was a bit of crunch with the music so I had to act fast, and there were tons of art in this game so Wink was very busy as well. Anyways thanks for the feedback, it means a a lot!
