How does you game fit the theme?
The story of the game is that your garden is infested wit vegetable snail hybrids (it makes more sense in-game). Some of your crops are real, and some of them are not real.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No:
• Pixellari (Font font used in this game) was
made by Zacchary Dempsey-Plante.
• Music: "8 Bit Play" By HeatleyBros
(link in the description)
• Music: "Quirkii" By HeatleyBros

• Base of the battle system made by Brackeys
(asset downloadable in the description).

Good job! Cute characters and music. Good rethinking of good old minesweeper mechanics. You should make game a bit faster

Developer

I will definitely make the game better in multiple aspects ( look at the previous comment to see those, I’m too lazy to write them again haha)

Thanks for playing!

#easteregg Man, the graphics are charming, the music is cute, but the combat mechanic is waaaaaay to grindy and it endend up working against the music.

I missed some SFX has a audio cue for the interactions.

The idea is great and, with the audio cue and less healing/missing it can be a very fun idle game.

Developer

I will be improving on the game on multiple aspects, as making the dialogue better, adding more polish and player feedback, adding sfx, and, most importantly, improving the battle system.

Thanks for playing!

The music was made by HeatleyBros, link for those in the game description.

Wow! The audio is really cool, the game is well done, a few concepts are introduced together really well. Liked it, well done!

Generally a fun and creative interpretation of Minesweeper. The conceit and the game type really made it stand out in this jam. Plus the snails and the descriptions! A couple of things made it harder for me: First, the delay between when you press V and when the tile changes. And second, the amount of missing and healing in fights made it easy to feel like you're not making progress. I never want to feel like I'm steady-stating in a fight.

But I would certainly give it another spin if you rereleased it!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

The delay is indeed very annoying and was a problem with the dialogue. I tried to fix it countless times but it just broke everything and because of that I almost gave up. But then I managed to get everything back to normal, even though the problem was still present.

As for the battle system. I will be improving it a lot, as it is quite boring and uninteresting at the moment.

cute idea. I like the hybrids. I feel like the miss rate is too high though in the battles.

Developer

I will improve the battle system a whole lot, as it is a question I get asked a lot. Thanks for playing!

Pretty fun game, I liked the minesweeper idea. I wish there was more feedback in general

Developer

Thanks! I agree, the game lacks quite a lot of polish and gAmE JuIcE in general.

I love minesweeper and loved playing your game.

One thing I would have loved to see is randomness in fights, because currently we only need to attack to win. That makes fights slow and boring over time.

Nice entry !

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I will definitely continue working on the battle system.

Nice game! I like the idea, but the battle system need to be improved. Beside that, really nice job!

Developer

Yea, the battle system is pretty boring, and I though of quite a lot of ways to improve it. Thanks for playing!

Nice idea taking the basis of minesweeper. Impressive for just one week, to be honest. If you want to work on this after the jam, maybe I felt too much text before starting the game that could be gradually shown during the gameplay instead. The actual game was much easier than expected after all the explanation.

#easteregg!!!

Yeah, the introductions could be drastically shortened. Thanks for playing!

Cool mix, strangely I was looking forward the fights so this made me intentionally go for the "mines" :D

Developer

That's exactly what you have to do! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
