How does you game fit the theme?
Can you keep the ID fakers out?

Controls

Left Click - Get ID / Give Back ID / Throw ID (you can go back to resting position from throwing position by clicking on person)
Right Click - Zoom in
Confirm the potential guest credentials by matching their eye and hair colour to that of their ID. Be sure to check their age and watermark as well.

Can you get 20 correct screenings before you get 5 incorrect?

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes. I just used open source music though

Credits to Scott Holmes Music for the amazing soundtrack. You can find the songs I used here : https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Scott_Holmes

Very fun way to apply the theme I really liked it, awesome job :D

Super cool.  Good concept and it fits the theme!

Submitted

Really love the concept and execution - nice work  - rated !

It’s a fun concept, and i can see the side of programming in this game.. its quite good ngl… if u work on this more, it will get u alot of downloads

Developer

Thank you so much for playing it. I definitely will!

Submitted

Really fun game idea! Did feel a bit repetitive though. If you carry on working on this, maybe add more characteristics to check and add a checking time limit per person?

Developer(+1)

Absolutely. I have a few ideas to make the game feel a bit more urgent which I just couldn't get to. Was too busy wrapping my head around animations and state machines.

Thank you for the feedback :)

Very nice Idea. This is the 3rd entry I saw that used this Papers Please kind of game mechanic which fits the theme very well. My only advice would be to add some audio feedback to spice the atmosphere a bit. Other than that the game is a solid entry.Well Done!

Developer

I thought so too haha

Yes for sure. I'm going to add a final build after the jam to to tie this one off with a bow. Feel free to follow if you want to see how it turns out!

Thank you for the feedback ^^

Submitted

Take your time and add some more mechanics to it. A bouncer is a nice fit as a border officer. You might add at least 2 more cool concepts which would make this a solid game loop.Cheers...=)

Realllyyy cool idea ! had a lot of fun not letting anyone in xD

Developer(+1)

Meany!!  :D

Submitted

cool idea, it's like papers, please. something like a timer would be great to make it more challenging.

Developer

I will definitely add that in the future. Thanks ^^

I really enjoyed yours too. Rated in return

Submitted

I like the concept, had a similar vibe to Papers, Please without the somber tone lol. And as someone else said, man I feel old realizing that 2004 was the cutoff year lmao. Good job!

Developer

Yeah, I'm really chuffed with the music I found. Thanks.

Time : she flies hey?

Best of luck with the jam!

I loved the concept! Throwing people's IDs was sooo satisfying haha! "Get out of my club you faker!" lol. The only thing I'd say is it could have used more of a tutorial. I wasn't sure what the watermark looked like at first, and because legal drinking age in the US is 21 I kept thinking they needed to be 21 at first. Not your fault on that since you clearly said 18, but I messed up at first. Also, I didn't realize I needed to match hair and eye color. It would have been a nice touch to let you know if you got it wrong and why, kind of like Papers, Please does with the little fax message. Loved the music though and the low-fi 80s computer graphic style. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play and give feedback.

You're absolutely right, I would have loved to have added a tutorial and better feedback to the player. The thing is I only got the actual win and loss scenarios done in the last 3 minutes! Time management, huh?

Please follow my channel if you want to see any updates in the future. I have some ideas in the works to polish this title off.

i liked how it all goes down

great game man

Developer

Thank you!

I'm sorry but I can't extract yours to return the favour :(

Best of luck with the jam. Your game looks awesome ^^

Submitted

This was so awesome! Love the concept and the style and character design is such a vibe! The audio details were wonderful as well! Great job!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words :)

Submitted

Some awesome music you got there fits really well for the setting and that small details you added were great

Developer

Thank you!

The credits to the artist are on the game's main page. Please check it out if you need similar music for future work :)

Submitted

Really love the details you put in - like the audio getting louder when the door opens and the card throw.

Developer

Coming from the champ of audio that means a lot! Thank you

Submitted

I'm really sorry, it's not your fault (it's not because of the 144MB weight of your game) , but my computer just won't let me download itch.io games. I truly apologise.

Good luck in the jam!

Developer(+1)

Hey no problem. Thank you for taking the time to post a comment. I'll still add yours to my list to rate.

Same to you!

Thanks for making me feel old....

"this should be easy. everyone who was born after 19... no 2000... wait.. oh my...." haha

I really loved the throwing card animation. might have kicked out a few people that I was not supposed to because of that.

Developer

Luckily since this dev was a little too stretched for time you weren't punished for throwing out valid guests.

I know right! I'm a '94 guy myself and in my mind everyone after 2000 is still a baby.

Thanks for your comments bud. Got a good chuckle out of it. Love your game too btw

aaaaahahaha back to throwing IDs!

Submitted

This was really fun! It reminds me of Not Tonight games. Really good job!

Developer

You know, I've heard of Papers Please but not "Not Tonight". I really thought I had an original concept going here haha

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to play. Really appreciate it ^^

Submitted

Ahah played a lot to Papers, Please and it reminds me a lot that game ! The music is good and i love how you can throw the id card of someone you don't want in.

All in all it's a great job !

Developer

Thank you!

Yeah I would have loved to add some ragdolling for hit customers and other breakable things, but I was stretched for time.

Thanks for playing

Submitted

Ahahah that's such a great idea actually ! I would love to see the result if you did this ;)

Submitted

love how i can yeet the id lol

Developer

"This itch empty" haha

Submitted

nice job!, it's hard for me tho, papers please games is hard for my small brain lol XD, nice job overall!

Developer

Hey, not every game is for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to play it.

If I get to updating it in the future I'll definitely get some more visual cues in to ease the learning curve.
