Very cool concept. The end is very fun and it's super satisfying when you gather new things but the beginning platformer person doesn't feel that great without any. Also, most of the levels is going down.

Developer

Now that you say it, sone levels do go down a lot. Thanks for playing!

Excellent game. I felt the same emotional swells in certain parts that I did in games like Abzu. I love the art style and music, and flying around with the flyers feels so wonderful.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I loved abzu as well, and wanted to do something like it. Glad you had some similarities with it!

An amazing game! The soundtrack and dynamic camera movement created an awesome atmosphere.

Unfortunately I got stuck at the end of the game, my flying companions held up the last slamming block of a level and did not return to me.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Sorry to hear that it happened to you as well, I could not pinpoint the problem as it does not happen very often when tested and ran out of time to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Submitted

No problem, I still enjoyed playing the game a lot :) For debugging: it seemed like when I got too far from the slamming white block which the flyers were attached to it got de-selected (didn't have the option to press space on it) and I could not re-select it either because it was too high up for me to be able get next to it, and so the flying companions were unable to be called back. From that I think the problem lies with the way selecting and de-selecting of the white blocks works.

I hope this helps you fix the bug a little easier if you want to keep working on the game :)

I was really confused at first but once i ran into the flying thing the theme all made sense, well done

I like the little things flying around. They create a lot of vibe.

It was a bit slow at the beginning but that is fine (my game is also slow at the start haha). I really liked it though and it kept me going until the end! Find my video review below:

Thanks! I watched your video and you actually only got halfway! There are some new mechanics after that, so I would appreciate if you could play it again but to the end.

Oh shit you serious?! How did I miss that lol

That is a lovely game you have there!

The comments below already pointed out the main points: Minimalist is good, gameplay smooth, great use of theme and music is work of art!

To try to give you something more:

-I feel like some clues for traps during the last flying level are appearing late on screen, making the time to react close to hard reflex games... I just found myself crying to my mom saying "I swear there was nothing here before" :'(

-Also someone said it already but the middle of each level is wandering around without info, sometimes with multiple ways to get to the same point, I see the purpose but it feels useless... Maybe add a little reward for taking the hard route would make it useful? (like strawberries in Celeste)

-It is while writing this comment that I understand the story, especially the triangles treachery when you fly first. I did not understood why the left me falling haha. Maybe make the blocks in white with red dots. It links to the next levels and make the whole world more logical imo.

Last but not least: How did you make that camera so smooth???? Please teach me!

Anyway, great job !

Thanks for the amazing feedback, I'm glad you liked it!

The camera is achieved via a helpful tool called cinemachine! It is a very simple camera system in unity and is downloadable for free.

I did not know of that, thanks a lot!

I absolutely loved the camera movement, made the gameplay so smooth, and the music was enjoyable!

Wow that was amazing! Everything is so simple and minimalist, there's a real atmosphere going on. The levels are really well made, using the mechanics to their full potential. It felt incredible when you could actually fly, especially with the music. The only little issue I have is the sprite of the character that you control being pixelated and a bit too detailed compared to the rest of the minimalistic style, but that's really just being nit-picky. Great Job!

Developer

Thank you very much! Don't worry about being nit-picky, it's completely valid criticism and I genuinely did not think about that while making the game, so thank you!

Nice game. I love the feel of this game.

The player can get stuck if he moves against a side of a platform. (For this you can maybe disable friction.)

Good work

That is great presentation and camera work, I especially like the part where your 8 "firefly" (?) buddies help you to fly straight up in that cut scene, and the music/sounds are well integrated with the gameplay, great work!

There seems to be a slight bug with the 2D collider/PhysicsBody, I can cling on to surfaces with the circular body.

I actually clung on for dear life when the fireflies failed to bring me up, lol.

Developer

Thanks for letting me know about the colliders! Thanks for playing!

It's incredible how much you got done in only one week! The artstyle is simple but pleasing, the concept is great, and the music is sooo awesome. One of the best games of this jam I've played so far!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

the game is so simple and the music is very relaxing!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

wow! hidden surprise and an overall good combination of things you've implemented

becoming stronger and I can feel it and it would...

Submitted(+1)

I am gonna be honest, at first I doubted the game would be any good at first glance, but then after I played it, man I was really wrong. Really good game, reminds me heavily of journey because of its atmosphere. It was a great play and I recommend people to try it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! Really flattered that it reminded you of Journey, I loved that game and wanted to do something similar, but with the theme of the jam in mind. I really appreciate it!

Awesome feel and music! I loved the jump mechanic, it's so well done. Fits the theme well, great work!

Developer

Thank you very much!

very nice game, congrats

Submitted(+1)

Definitely worked very well with the theme, I felt very strongly that I was becoming stronger and more capable the more of those tiny triangle things followed me, and though that it lent itself well to some sense of progression, particularly in those 2 flying sections. That said, I felt that the game's main level design made for some very slapdash, underwhelming levels to explore that felt closer to mindless wandering rather than trying to find something. Almost all the aspects of this game come back to the fact that the 2 climactic sections are very impressively made across the board and served to greatly elevate many aspects of it, even if I definitely didn't enjoy myself as much with the fairly generic nature of the rest of the gameplay.

Developer

Thanks for the amazing feedback! The in-betweens are not polished enough, I agree. Time limitations took it's toll.
