How does the game fit the theme?
You're thrown straight into the role of a train conductor who has no clue how anything of the locpmotive works. If you're not careful, everything gets out of control and the train crashes. Strangely, everyone keeps saying nothing can go wrong.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
- Brackeys Logo (for icon and ingame information)
- every sound (downloaded them mostly from pixabay)

Cool game, very unique! I liked the controls very much. Took some time to understand XD

It took a lot of time to reach a station, maybe I didn't understand what it should be looked like. Maybe put the first station not much after the spawn so people would learn.

Good job!

This game is amazing! The gameplay is very fun and relaxing. It's a little hard to understand at first, I think the game would benefit a lot from an interactive tutorial. I really like the simplicity of just driving around while looking at your surroundings, the gameplay really reminds me of games like American Truck Simulator, you've nailed the relaxing vibe of it! My only criticism is that the speed limit could be higher, as the fastest safe speed felt way too slow. I also really like the sound design, it sounds very authentic and adds a lot of character to the game. I'd love to see a full version of this game with more things to do and different environments (like deserts, mountains, etc.). This was a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Good job!

The game is very nice and surprisingly simple. I got a bit scared by the tutorial, which was obviously intentional and funny, but then I felt like I had to travel 10 kilometers before reaching the first station... I even started to think there were no stations.

The background is beautiful, and the entire game is very polished, but maybe consider fading out the braking noise the longer it plays.

I had a great time, but after a while, the gameplay became a bit repetitive. You might want to introduce new hazards or setbacks to gradually increase the difficulty. Great job!

Very cute game and concept, the sound of when I derailed straight up killed my eardrums, but apart from that it's been fun!

Developer

Tried to fix it but I need more time to do that. idk why it does that

Thanks :)

Do you have any ideas on how I can implement this feature more?

Submitted

Unfortunately, I can't rate your game: there are problems with the canvas in your game, which is why I can't see the button and can't start the game :(

Developer

Oh, are you using a flat screen or smth like that?

Submitted

No, the standard display resolution - 1366x768

Developer

The game was only tested on 1920x1080. So idk if this happens with lower resolution

Pretty fun.
I had a bit of trouble understanding that opening the fire box door meant fueling it, but the help option confirmed it.
With some more things to balance I think this can become an excellent game.

Thank you very much. Do you have any additional ideas which keep the game interesting over time?

Perhaps a map where you have a set path (or just the next turn) and you need to choose the right rail in a split?
I know that in the past the driver needed to grab a "Key" while moving for the rail network to know which rails are occupied at any time, or something like that.
Maybe the player needs to lean in the correct direction (Maybe with a QTE) to choose the correct track, otherwise it's up to chance.
Or some mechanic to encourage the player to drive as fast as possible to meet a deadline?

Just throwing a few ideas.

A very cool concept and fun game! It was cool to learn all the different parts of the train and how to manage it but maybe an interactive tutorial would help the game flow instead of just reading through it. Other than that, it was very fun!

Developer

Thanks! Didn't have time to add this in, but definitely would if I had more time.

Very cool game! - I couldn't get the speed into red, but I did manage to derail myself. Yes, yes, I also stopped at a station. lol.

Developer

Wow, not bad. Thank you for playing :)

It would be a cool simulation game if continued! It would require better landscape (maybe procedural generation?) and some sort of  incentive to continue and i'm sure the train lovers (like myself) would be in paradise !

Thank you very much :)

Cute game! Had a fun time with it. There was a lot of text in the tutorial but it was actually pretty intuitive once I got going

Developer

Thanks a lot! Wanted to explain it as much as possible so everyone understands it.  Were there any aspects I could improve?

I think if you wanted to keep working on this some more UI polish would go a long way. Might be nice to be able to always see the distance to the next station

Developer

You can see the distance to the next station as soon as the next stations spawns. Was trying to figure out how to manage it that it is able to be active all the time but I wasnt able to figure it out in the time we were given

this is what it's all about
