How does your game fit the theme?
Our game, Crossroad Chaos, fits the theme "Calm Before the Storm" by representing the contrast between the peaceful start of a day and the hectic rush hour traffic that follows. At the beginning, traffic is light and easy to manage, but as the day progresses, the pressure builds and the storm of vehicles and pedestrians intensifies. You, as the traffic officer, must maintain order amidst the growing chaos. The calm of the morning is soon replaced by the storm of rush hour, where every decision counts!
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
The entire development programming and design of Crossroad Chaos was done by our team (Alan & Geros) during the game jam. We created some of our own UI assets (title, arrows, keyboard buttons) but also utilized Syntys Polygon City for the art assets to quickly bring our vision of a bustling city to life. All sound effects were sourced from royalty-free assets on freesound.com, and the music tracks are royalty-free assets from the following sources:
Music 1: Children's Comedy by Pixabay
Music 2: Comedy Music by Chosic

This is a great game! There were some bugs and it was hard to not get run over but it was fun.
Ok, that's creative! Gameplay is fun and use of art assets is clever. Also, Synty's Polygon City is really good fit for your game. I burst out laughing when I got hit by car! 😂 Only thing I would nitpick are controls. It's great you can select control scheme, but it needs some more adjusting. For example, when camera is fixed in one spot, player character should move based on camera perception, not on rotation of a character. But still a great game and a really funny idea!
Very nice idea! I think there was a bug during my match. There were two cars that didn't move even though I set the green light
Yes there are bugs when replaying. We didn't manage to patch it in time but we ll patch it right after
Great idea! Love the interpretation of the prompt! :D
Haha nice idea, I wished I could have played it with mouse somehow, to be more easy to switch the lights.
I don't know if it's just me or the level is the same from the hole.io game? :))
ha, didn't know about hole.io but i checked it and yes it is the same level! its the Syntys Polygon City asset pack.
thanks for playing, glad you liked it!
Haha very fun and funny game, I was not expecting to be get hit by a car, and some drivers were trolling me, gta like death was nice as well :D
Here is my game if anyone wants to try

thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed the trolling :D
The name definitely fits :D Fun concept, the choice of "you dead" sound effect is great!
I am guessing you know the sound effect from somewhere ;) thanks for playing and the kind words <3
Fun game. The death sounds are pretty great, haha.
glad you had fun, thanks for playing!
This was a fun and chaotic game! I enjoyed the challenge, though the movement was tricky and the bugs made it harder. The art and concept are great!
they are noooot buuuuugs, they are feaaatuuuures, hehehhe!
thanks for playing <3
Very cool game with a cool idea! When the chaos started I was just panicking and fidgeting, but it was still fun to play the game :)
thank you, glad you enjoyed <3
These drivers are nuts! They just hit and run an officer! This is why we should promote working from home. Less traffic, less accidents, and no traffic enforcers in danger.
Well done with your submission :) This was a fun game to play with. The rush hour was really stressful, but I guess that’s what makes it a storm.
I like your line of thinking!
thanks for playing, hope we didn't stress you toooo much :D
Really the idea is really fantastic and the realistic visuals are also great. Keep it up.
thanks! glad you liked it :D
This is a fantastic idea! the movement was quite rough, and having the lanes be controlled by keys made it so facing different directions got really confusing. Otherwise, I loved the graphics and design, especially all the expletives from drivers :)
yeeeaaah, instead of controls we decided to focus on the expletives, hehehe :D
thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Very fun idea and well executed. And the graphics were great. I had a bug where sometimes, the cars wouldn't drive even when I gave them permission. Otherwise it was good, and I really liked the difficulty that is added by the fact that the player can get hit by the cars
thank you <3 yeah, this was one elusive bug, some cars are just cursed :P
The game is soo funny lol. I love the funny voice when the cars hit together. Also very creative and expandable game concept!
thanks for playing, glad you had fun :D
Hilarious game, really liked it and the mechanic worked quite well. I was wondering what was the problem and I saw the bug warning, then it worked fine.
thank you for playing and the kind words <3
One of my favorites games so far in the jam, very original and fun to play.
I think I encountered a few bugs, the cars were sometimes not moving while authorized to turn every route, I don't know if I made a mistake but it happened a few times. As others have said, the controls a quite clunky and that's the main reason of difficulty for me.
I hope you can work on this after the jam, i really liked the concept and would love to see it polished !
I was confused about it as well but you can check about the bug warning on their page, maybe it will help you not to get this issue for now.
thank you for the kind words!
there are definitely bugs and the game needs a lot of polishing (you made no mistakes, this happens).
we'll keep working on it if people like it :D
This was a cool idea! Cameras were a bit difficult to work with though, even with the fixed one. Being able to freely without affecting the camera would've been nice.
thank you for playing and for the feedback :D
I really unique game in general, and not just for the theme! Dealing with pedestrians and cars crossing in that frantic kind of way is a lot to juggle, and it really ramps up fast. There's a ton of situations to react to even without throwing your own positioning in the mix.
If I had to mention anything in particular, I had issues predicting where to position for turning cars due to the drift they often had, and it seemed difficult to position myself out of the way in the areas i was allowed to direct them from.
Nevertheless I had a lot of fun, and got a sort of overcooked/plateup feeling from dealing with the patience of each car. I think it has a lot of potential for a full game!
yeah, the physics in general need a lot of work still, so we had to go with a mix of physics and direct translation for the demo.
glad you had fun, thanks for playing and the kind words :)
That was pretty great. I had a fun time. And the sound of the people at the end gave me a chuckle.
Thanks for playing!
