Game's Take on the Theme
Spin platforms to move around the arena, attack by spinning into boss, bosses were designed as spinning shapes

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
We made all the art and music (only some sfx premade)

This game is incredible, love the color palette, the spin theme was incredibly used, and the music was SUPER amazing (ayo slide that soundtrack lowkey). It was difficult for sure, but I definitely enjoyed it! :)

the soundtrack is available on youtube, spotify, and other streaming services as ‘Gryoneer (Original Game Soundtrack)’ ;)

Good game but I think if you added a counter showing how many points you have it would be even better.

Developer

At the moment the mouse cursor acts as a counter showing how many points you have as explained in the tutorial, it starts red at 0 points and the 4 corners turn blue on by one as you acquire points up to 4 points, sorry for any confusion maybe I should have made that a bit clearer

This one fun and challenging. I really like the visuals and the gameplay. Awesome stuff.

Very unique and well executed concept! The platform spinning and boss interactions with the platforms are really thought out. There is definitely a learning curve curve there, and the fight was still pretty tough and drawn out for me even on easy mode.

Pretty neat game, being able to move onto platforms that you can spin is a really good idea. It really enables you to dodge attacks, especially the laser ones. Also like how there are these things you can obtain throughout the arena to attack the enemy with so you are constantly moving around the boss. I don’t have the skill for it, but I really think that if you become a master of this game’s mechanics, you will really look like a pro. It’s a really challenging game, and it feels a lot like doing a puzzle when trying to pick up those dots from the platforms to attack the boss with. Unfortunately, I was only able to get through the first boss on easy because I quickly got a headache from both spinning the platforms and by freefalling due to my lack of skill lol. Still, very well made, good job!

Wow this game is well made with its simplicity and controls! It would take some gamer skills to get good at it, but I love the design! You can use the blocks to defend against attacks! Congrats on submission. Feel free to try our game if you like!

Really like this game's take on the theme! The combat is fun along with the visuals and music being awesome!! Really great game you made out here!

(PS: If you're willing to I'd love it if you can rate and leave some feedback on my game! This is my first ever jam and I'd love to see where I can improve for the future!)

I like the visuals, minimalistic but cool, also the variation in gravity direction makes a great mechanic, very easy to control and use in our advantage, really innovative system, also the fact we can go through floor to the other edge, is a nice touch, i really like what we have here. I rate graphics, control, fun and music on top, all really cool, also, if you have time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!

Super fun! The mechanics work super well together in-game and I can see this having a very high skill ceiling :) The art is also pure eye-candy. Really nice touch having the cursor turn along with the level!

Ok, how does this absolute gem only have 24 rates? This is amazing, I love the take on the theme to make spinning platforms while also shifting the gravity, the bosses are extremely fun to fight and the controls are sweet. The artstyle, the sfx and the music is all spectacularly done. I have nothing else to say other than congratulations, I am giving you 5 star on every category.

I like the idea to rotate block to get powerup. It's not easy to understang all the commands but, when it becomes clear, the game become really fun.

The look and music works great with the gameplay !

This was really fun! I wasnt very good at it but after playing for a bit it kinda clicked and i started feeling more fluid and powerful!

The gameplay was tight and the spin mechanic worked really well. I cant imagine that was easy to get working as smoothly as it does! I thought it was a bit gimicky at first glance but i really started to understand how it worked as a core mechanic and strategy as i got better at the game. Trying to conceptulize and plan with it was difficult, but i think it really added a great extra dimension to the rest of the fast paced action. It also felt super satisying when you denied a boss attack at the last minute by spining the block your on.

The controls worked and the tutirual was really helpful. The only critisism i had was there was a lot of controls and i want really sure why you needed to entry spin mode to attack? maybe i was just missing something, but it took a while for me to figure out why i couldnt attack at first. This is a minor point thought because once you get used to the controls and mechanics it all works great, so it could just be a skill issue or learning curve.

The art was nice and all worked toghether to provide a really cohesive and unique style. I thought it was elevate by lots of bits of polish, from the curor changing color to show information off the flashes when you hit things or the laze trails showing where they would go if they wernt blocked. Everything felt juicy and grounded and really worked well together.

The music was also great, it fit the rest of the game and was  funky fresh. It can be easy to over do the musics intensity in games like this but I think this walked the line well between ebeing engaging but never too much. The soundeffects were also well done and didnt become annoying.

Really solid all round, great work! thanks!

Thanks for the in depth feedback I really appreciate your kind words. I'm sorry for the confusion with the attacking, you need to gather 2 of the blue points to attack but if you manage to enter spin mode you can attack as much as you want without spending points for a limited time!

oohhhhh! ok that clears it up :) I would take my feedback there with a pinch of saltbecause ive been playign loads of games back to back so it is probably just my tired brain! (or i skipped something by accident in the tutorial!). I will try again with this new knowledge, but i will have to find something else to blame for my lack of skill :p

Great game! The spin concept is awesome, and the execution is spot on!

So refreshing your idea and controls, I like the way you have to coordinate between block and attack. Great game!!

Really clever idea on the theme, however the game made me motion sick 😅

I really can't think of much to criticise here, it's all stellar stuff. The take on the theme is super well executed and unique, the boss design is great and all the mechanics feel really well thought out. Amazing work!

Love the mechanics of this one, it was really fun! I think the health of the bosses is a little too high, at least for a jam game, but I really enjoyed my time with this one! :D

Wow this is a really unique game concept! I took me a while to get my head around the controls but the tutorial really helped. The graphics and sound are great too. Good work dudes
