I love how lighthearted we are... while cooking all these people! >:)
Great choice of art & music, and the gameplay is super addicting! Good work and congratulations on your placement!

I did the programmation, the game and level design and some of the arts and sounds. I've done all of the voices. Thanks to my friend Armiox for helping with making the tutorial interface and playtesting the game.
External Credits
Sounds are from freesound.org, they are in the public domain for the most part. For the arts i've used free assets from itch.io Like Dungeon tilesets from 0x72. Mochii plains tileset. Superdark enchanted forest characters. Pixel Food by Henry Sofware The music is Pixelland by Kevin Mcleod. More credits in the game description.
How did you/your team interpret the theme?
You are not the hero is a theme that often make people think about being the vilain. I wanted to do a game when you play as a vilain but in a cartoony way. So I decided to make a cooking game where fantasy creatures serves as food. The game is a bit like Overcooked but more focused on the fighting and less on the cooking. etc...
How was your/your team's experience in this jam?
It was a wonderful experience, and it was a bit tiring too !

very good concept. I feel like a bad person when I play this, and it's fun :D
nice game.
This was really cool! i think there was a lot of text on the screen sometimes but apart from that I really liked it!
Thank you for your feedback I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Yes me and my friend Armiox (he helped me design the tutorial) tried to put the least text possible, but I think what we have done was the minimum to make the game clear for everyone. But I agree that the menu text can seems a bit overwhelming for a newcomer.
I like the concept and the gameplay, some skills are needed to pick and throw in the right direction, but it goes smooth. I have a complain about the GUI, it's unclear and need polish, particulary to locate any variable that could makes you lose. Also i'm not sure if the Mario's style music really suits it, but it works.
Very fun and adictive, but i'm pretty sure it will give me the raw for the heroes i cooked...
Thank you for your feedback!
I agree with everything you said, except that personally and like some other people I really think the music suit the game because it put you in the shoes of the demon gourmet, you are doing horrible things (cooking people) in a super cheery way because you like cooking. The music doesn't fit the violence of the game because for the demon it's totally normal tossing people into ovens, and he likes it.
Other than that yes the UI seriously needs and update!
Haha! Your concept is so fun, I love it. The pixel art is great and the sounds work well. I wish the controls and UI had a little more polish but this is excellent for a game ham! Nice work.
The art is good. The concept and gameplay is good. The way you interpreted the theme is also pretty creative. It's kind of brutal though. The game concept isn't bad as said. A good game I would say. I only played one level though...
This game is great! It's very fun and addicting, and I love the concept being a twisted take on those "make recipes as fast as you can!" games. The very unfitting music actually helped set the scene mucch more, haha.
I have a few minor issues, though;
Other than that, I had a lot of fun. The final level was a massive difficulty spike, but I still beat it! My high score for the campaign was 2780! I'd kill to have an endless mode, or something.
Thank your for your super complete feedback!
First I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
For the UI you are right and it will be the first thing I will fix on a more polished version of the game 👍
I agree the art is inconsistent, it's just that I was alone and not that great at pixel art so I used a lot of free assets (I could have done every assets myself but the game would have been a bit empty since it already took me a lot of time to make the gameplay good) But I agree with you so myself I wouldn't put 5 stars on presentation lol. It will be improved if i do a post-jam version.
And for the glitch yeah it's a funny bug that will maybe become a feature, who knows 🙄
For the health you can see you character color changing when you are losing HP but yeah I can make it more clear if I add a health bar somewhere. That's also planed if a more polished version see the day.
Wow, I'm super happy you played through all the game! Yes the final level was intented to be a bit harder, and the higher your score goes on a level the higher the difficulty is, having a super high score on the first level can make it incredibly hard for exemple.
If I make a full version there will be an endless mod, that's 100% sure!
I love your idea! During the game I felt kinda felt bad for the humans but that's how being an anti-hero feels like I guess :D
Only thing that I don't really like is mostly UI. Overall I really enjoyed playing it!
This is my favorite take on the selling to customers/cooking genre. Oh my goodness. That cheery music just sells the hilarity! I really like that the tutorial is just the main screen and you can interact and practice on it. I'd love to see a version of this with the bugs worked out and a polished UI.
Very funny and alternative, the gameplay is very nice and the game art as well.
This is brilliant game :D. First level is a bit hard for me though. You could give more time or score cap for first level. Art and sfx are good.
New show from Gordan Ramsi looks cool) want to add a cookbook for full immersion. Also it was a very good idea to add a bit of gameplay even before level start
It was entertaining! I kinda want now an Overcooked game where you throw people instead of ingredients.
Your core gameplay is on point. There is no boring mechanic whatsoever. Your game really has potential, and I'll actually look forward if you continue developing this game. Good job!

Very fun game, the concept is funny, and I love how the main menu is a tutorial
