How did you/your team interpret the theme?
You are literally not the hero. We got inspired by thinking that the player will be the side character (the retainer) on a typical fantasy genre game.

How was your/your team's experience in this jam?
The jam was fun. We didn't get to finish the game because of time restraint but we managed to set it up to be playable at its barebone state.

Nice work! It would probably be better with sounds, but it’s understandable, given the time constraints!

This is the perfect theme interpretetion. Art needs a little improvement. I liked hero and sidekick animations. I liked that hero finds his target and fights himself. It was fun.

Simple game, but still fun! Good job! It should have sounds, and you can change default font...

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, we'll continue the project and add sounds and more stuff.  I actually forgot to change the font thanks for pointing that out  hahaha

I thought it was a basic yet fun bullet hell, good job!

Congrats on submitting even if you didn't get to finish! It's pretty bare bones but something about running around as the retainer with his hood flopping and backpack bouncing made me smile.

I love your concept! I took the prompt the same way.

I kinda felt like i was floating, lacking any references for the floor. But i like your monsters and your animations

The game is simple, it doesn't particulary shine but it works, it's good. The map is a bit empty too, adding some props could be nice !

Simple, good looking game. I do agree with the previous comment tho, being moved argound is kinda annoying.

The art is good considering that it's over 32x32. It's sad that you couldn't really finish the game so I understand why not everything is well made. Considering your problems though this is a good game! Although you should really make the player walk on his own instead of getting moved around automatically when the hero moves... it's annoying.

That's a great suggestion!

I just tried something new by mimicking the camera following the hero like it's the player. But a lot of the feedback hated that concept, so that didn't work well, hahaha.

I'll update it by making the camera follow the player now and staying with the concept that the hero has the main light source while the retainer keeps a small source of light. The code right now doesn't consider the retainer on where the enemy spawns around the hero, so if I changed the camera, there wouldn't be any enemy spawning on the player.
