  • I would have really liked to see this submission finished.
  • Fun sound design with music and sfx. Camera angle with the gameplay was pretty cool. Gameplay got quite repetitive though, with not much actions for the player. Not too much replayability but it could've been helped with different items or upgrades

Hey GM637 !

How are you? It's Ilias again. I have some new questions for you.

What do you think about game jams in general, and this game jam in particular? What do you think could have been better, and do you have any suggestions?

What were your favorite video games?

Where do you think the strength of video games resides? What do you believe a video game should have to be a successful video game?

If you would like, you can tell me a little bit more about yourself and your background, if you have any information you would like to share.

Thank you in advance,

Ilias.

Hey  GM637 !

How are you? My name is Ilias.

I tested your game, "Tamers Stuck In Dungeons DEMO"

At the begining the loading screen takes to much time before going to the main menu  , i think it's a unity bug , many other jammer had it too on their game entries ,

i also noticed a glitch/bug after clicking on the playing button , it made a bug and also on the audio too .

Questions:

Did you implement any optimization techniques, or did you choose to use only in-engine optimizations?

What engine and tools did you use to create your game, including the graphics?

How challenging was it to develop your game? Did you face any significant obstacles?

What inspired your game idea and gameplay? Could you share the story behind the game's name?

How did you get into video game development?

_______________________________________________________________

Note: It would mean a great deal to me if you could rate my game. If you haven't already, feedbacks from friends and fellow gamers is valuable to me. Thank you in advance for your consideration and your time.

Thanks!

Ilias.

Hello! thanks for checking ny game out! Ive rated yours, i just forgot to leave a feedback at the time, anyways for your questions :

Bugs : All your findings are mostly browser and might be hardware/software related issues (unless you played the pc version which i didnt know any similar or related bugs for that version.)

1. there isnt much optimization, as the game is already setup to run nice on mid-to-low end devices. (noticeable by the low resolution graphics)

2. I used Godot! I made the graphics with Krita and the audio using sfx plugins and a music track on youtube.

3. Wasnt really challenging tbh, the only problem is lacking free time since i was on the middle of college prep and exam. The only thing i didnt manage to do was add random variety of the floor designs of the arena.

4. I kinda like the style of long Anime Names, With the story itself (while absent in this version lol) is just like those fantasy dungeon animes.

5. I had passion of creating things for people to play with from young age, got introduced to gamedev in primary school and self taught myself until now which i just got into college.

Thank you for answering the questions!

yeah browser games seem to have some limitations , at least using te unreal engine , so many things that work on windows dosent work on HTML5 builds , shame !

Oh nice , thank you ten for the ratings , much appreciated !

Was following the progress on discord - Great to see the final result (despite the multiplayer issues during last hours haha)

Insane Arcade Feel. Really unique idea of using companion as 'bullets' - I did not know that till now even though I saw the early progress lol. Like the polish/Transition screens!

Also great to see that the multiplayer was implemented well. 😄

really great idea for a use of companions, hitting them at the enemies rather than attacking them directly was really unique and fun!

Super duper fun to smash your companions :)

I wanted to report a bug that it's not possible to pass 6 floor as there is no way, but then I realized that there you can jump xD

Not sure why it was not needed before, maybe need to create an obstacle at the earlier stage to show that mechanic. Great submission!

Nice graphics and interesting concept!

As feedback, having the arrow and light always pointing to the mouse makes it look like the character is aiming in that direction.

Also, in some levels, where there are platforms close enough to the exit door, you can use those platforms to jump over the door and get to the exit before it opens or to walk on the walls and fall outside of the map.

Nice job!

you can hold right click to aim, which already changes where the light and arrow is pointing,

i also left the high platforms in, considering it helps when youre stuck and cant wait for the door to open (it helped on my highscore lol)

The polish on this game is incredible(rated 5 stars in experience)! I didn't have a moment of boredom while playing this!

Lol, what a psychedelic mess ( i mean this in a good way! ). The game somehow got me hooked and i completed level 10 in no-time.

Besides all the things happening ( and it's alot ) I had the feeling i could just spam spacebar and move down to the next level. Lower levels were not necessary harder.

The music and visuals were a good match, but I would not advise to play this game when you are drunk!

Nice job!

Developer

Wow i just updated the game lol, are you playing the old version? check out the new one!

Just played your last version as well. Those additional tips are nice ,but the door to the next floor is 5 out of 10 times open after you hit 1-2 enemies ( previous version seemed to work better in that regard )

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

i just fixed it XDDD well play again whenever u feel like it LOL

Plus its more like a timer than it is a (hit enemies a certain times) door
