Nice gameplay. Despite the very simple controls and idea (you just go left and right to pickup chickens) It has a push and pull to it that makes it fun. You have to balance between picking up more hen and running the risk of overflowing, or caching them in at the cost of missing a few more hens.

Especially loved the robot's face change as the stack of hens grow and becomes more heavy. The fact the robot goes slower gives a good feel too. And the art when we get hen stack overflow! Didn't manage to beat Pyrious, my best score is 125 :V

obviously not my type of game, only managed to get 100 at the most :( Fun idea though and felt polished enough for the time we had available :) Would be great if there was some indication on when you got to close to the maximum, so it would have been easier to know when to drop of the hens, like the pile sways more or something. Overall, was a fun game :)

Regarding close-to-maximum indication: there is an exclamation mark shown on the robot’s face, but it’s just a static image, no animation, therefore not really visible, I understand. Also, that exclamation mark happens 2 chickens below the max, which means… really low margin of error. So… I get your point and agree 100% πŸ™‚

It wasn't totally obvious what was happening when I was overheating. The background had the feel victory screen or something to me.

Otherwise a cute/fun little thing.

Regarding things not being obvious: in general, I am aware game lacks in the area. For example, I planned to add an animation of chickens falling down from the robot’s head after overhearing animation ends. Also, wanted to add a β€œ+ 12” score section about chickens on the top of the head, and then that number would get removed in the animated way so you will see that overheating made you lose it (when in contrary, placing chickens in the nest would trigger an animation of the number being added to the score)

I liked the penalty of holding too many chickens and the art is really cute. I liked how the robot's face changed. Reminds me of game boy color games, pretty cool!

My highscore was 99 (Pretty bad, I know)
Playing this I realized how greedy I truly am. Every time i want to minmax and collect as much as possible before depositing and then I LOSE THEM ALL, SLIP AND FALL...
Loved the artstyle! Some sounds would be a nice addition though
But nevertheless, great game! Loved it!

Neat game and the pixelart is just lovely. SFX would go a long way, but I'd assume that was on the todo list 😁

The punishment for catching too many feels too rough though, i'd either lose time or lose all the chickens (or maybe just half).

I was not thinking about it as hard, because in my head it was like:

  • there are way too many chickens falling to catch them all, which means there is no need to catch them all
  • so there is no difficulty, just the more you catch the better. Or rather: the only difficulty is to beat your own score in the next play

My decision was only dictated by intention to remove a score ceiling that everyone would hit easily.

But good to know it was not perceived as that by you πŸ™‚πŸ‘
