I managed to make a nice little jumpscare! And learnt to work with Godot

Nice game, I enjoyed that!

I don't quite understand how I only get 2 options: die to doppelganger during interrogation, or win saying it wasn't doppelganger at all. Also there's a long branch of dialogue about cookies, with no options, that makes suspect angry and kills you, it's like a dead end you can't save. It's alright for a jam game though, It's hard to playtest everything in a short time.

I like how simple game looks and plays and at the same time how deep you fall in the atmosphere and context it creates. I was actually afraid to annoy the suspect after just several lines of text. Great job!

Thank you for the feedback! I intended to have more options you could select, indeed. Unfortunately, had some problems and ended up not having time to add them :') But I'm really glad you liked the concept! Thanks for playing ^^

Hi, the art and the overall atmosphere is really great. The sounds were very fitting, and the interactions look very well polished. It needs some more juice but obviously you didn't have that much time, I also focused more on polishing my game than adding more content. Really well done, it looks amazing and it's very enjoyable to play.

Good luck with it, cheers! <333

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you had a good time! Yes, if I had more time, I'd have added more suspects and stuff. But you know how game jams are :'D

I think the concept of your game was very interesting! I did assume from the get-go that the person was the doppelgänger, due to the way the tutorial message was written. Of course it's just a jam game and there's never enough time for anything, but I'm sure this concept would be so cool with multiple cases! So you really are never sure, who you're dealing with, the moral implications of accusing someone of being a doppelgänger when they're not... So many possibilities!

Developer(+1)

That was the idea! And you are absolutely right, we never have enough time on game jams xD But I'm glad you understood what I was going for! Thank you so much for playing!

It seems like you were going for a twist ending when you find the doppelganger but it makes for an unsatisfying conclusion. I initially assumed I'd done something wrong but it didn't tell me what, it might be worth separating the evaluation from the consequences a bit to make it clearer that things are working as intended.

Thank you for the feedback! I totally understand what you mean. To be fair, I was planning on doing so, but unfortunately didn't have enough time to do it. But still, I'll keep it in mind for the future. Thank you so much for playing!

Hey man, I liked your game.

What I do think is that the choices are a bit predictable and that most of the times I only had one to choose from, making the game very linear. I think this kind of game must have a lot more depth to it. But then again, it's a game jam, of course you don't have time for that.

I tried really hard to find the jumpscare you mentioned but didn't find it? I got threeendings, in two of them the guy at the end showed himself. Is that the jumpscare? Maybe.

Overall, I think it's great, just needs more depth.

Thank you so much for playing it! I agree with you. I had written some more dialog options, but I ran into some unexpected issues and didn't have the time to implement them :') The jumpscare I meant is the one when the suspicion bar gets full, then the lights go off and the suspect's voice gets pitched down. It's a light one, but I got jumpscared while working on it hahaha xD

Interesting concept you explored here. I like the way the player is supposed to get information from the suspect. But then nothing is done with the information I gather.
Nevertheless I like the concept and it's visual style. One could explore more in a similar direction.
Good job finishing your game!

Thank you so much for playing it! I'm glad you enjoyed the concept, and I totally agree with what you said about the information. I had planned to make more endings based on the information gathered, but unfortunately didn't have time to make more of it. Thank you for the feedback!
