Very beautiful pixel art. That opening cutscene was gorgeous and the in-game sprites are also very nice! I don't have much to say on the gameplay, but I do like the idea that her way of fitting in is to just make people food, I mean if someone made me a baked potato for free I guess I'd HAVE to like them.
Great idea and i love the art!
Maybe you could increase the pace of the game a bit (e.g. movement speed or how you get your ingredients and stuff)
As others have said the actions to make are not properly explained.
Other than that this is a really nice game! I love your art and the concept!
Love the art, music, mood, and story!!
Love the concept overall, and would like to play it more, but just found it hard at first because:
- When you open the fridge, you don't see the names of the items (some can get a bit confusing)
- You have to mix things in the perfect order (even if in the same line, it says "carrot and potatoes", you have to do carrots first and potatoes after)
Also, little bug, when you try talking to the animal multiple times (by spamming), it just adds new letters without stopping the previous dialogue
Also, the UI is really small and the layout is not correctly setup (when resizing the game I guess)
Probably because of that, when I tried to turn the page for a new recipee, it ended up closing the manual too, which was kind of frustrating
It's a nice concept but it was hard to figure out how to make the interaction work and sometimes even when I think I was following the recipe it was not working. Also having to flip through the whole book to find the recipe is not fun, or at least should be a faster thing to do so it doesn't become tedious.
Whiffed when I couldn’t figure out how to make the baked potato and really had to squint my eyes to see the recipe. Also not sure what to do with the food when done, I think I might have baked the potato correctly but couldn’t find where to put it, but it went in the trash!
Nice and cosy cooking experience, didn't give me an overwhelming sense of doom like some of the other games in this jam :)
Very very cute game overall. Some aspects of the gameplay itself could use some work, but presentation and overall feel/variety felt really polished. Really good game concept. Could be a good Harvest Moon-y game about cooking potentially!
The overall atmosphere was so inviting! The way the intro begins and how the music and world suck you in is really cool, the gameplay loop was a bit confusing at first, as i kept experimenting i figured out some of the elements, but I think the food needed to have some names, it was hard to identify certain ingredients.
But overall, it was a really interesting game!
Very aesthetically pleasing game. Lots of nice touches in the kitchen. I liked the ability to turn the music on/off with the radio. Nice mixture of styles,; they work together so well. Very comfy.
I found the gameplay confusing. It was easy to interact with different items around the kitchen. However, I could not tell which ingredients were which. Perhaps label them in the fridge menu? Also, the next/previous page icons in the recipe book were very small. Took me a while to work out how to turn the page.
Overall, very high standard of art. Just needs some tweaking to make certain parts clearer. Nice job!
👏 Very nice visual. Especially the "hand drawing" one. It gives the game an interractive comic book style (which improve the game feel).
I think the "menu" should be open by default. I didn't saw it first and went too far outside the house 😆
