I really enjoyed the music! It helped create the right atmosphere. Well done.

Really nice visuals! Loved the design of the creatures. Nice mechanics for each creature reacting differently on the light. Great job!

Creepy little critters :)

I really love the design of these weird creatures and I don't think they are spooky at all. I imagined it would be very fun to see these creatures in a dating simulator. This way I'll get to understand them more and become friends with them eventually.

I really like the graphics, the atmosphere is cool... I really liked this game, nice work.

Seeing how everyone reacts to me flashing my light on and off at them was funny

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you :)

The game is nice, the horror atmosphere is scary at first and play with the light is really very interesting! It was nice to go in search of the skulls! However since you can not die the fear fades quickly and the game becomes easy afterwards

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! :D

That's very valid criticism, thanks for that. We just didn't know how to implement dying without making it feel weird/unfair, but I see your point 100%

As someone with a similar control scheme, I'm jealous of how much better yours works! I'd love to pilfer your code.

The art is a highlight here, both the player and monster designs are so detailed and cool.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! Your controls are absolutely fine :D And ours are achieved using a built-in Godot "look_at" function and also using multiple Raycasts for the light detection

Diversity of enemies and their unique reaction to light and ART is just insane for a gameajm. Good job! Tbh, fully functional map will be OP for our games, but still I think even simple one, without too much information (about keys or skulls) will be an improvement.

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback as well :)

A bit similar to Yomawari, good idea. The ennemy variety was a nice touch to make this stand out, nicely done

Developer

thanks a lot, glad the experience felt kind of unique! i have actually never heard of Yomawari but after looking it up I can see the resemblance :D

Very impressive! The twitchy camera movements and excellent visuals really gave this game a creepy feeling, and the sound effects worked very well too. Getting a good horror atmosphere in a 2D game is always a challenge, and you've pulled it off very well. Congrats!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words :D We are glad you enjoyed it!
