I got to get the bad things out of the way first, the screen size for the itch page did not work for me and I had to resize my screen and could never get it perfect. And the biggest one is I was getting close to maxing everything and my coins went to null, I know why this happens but I could not do anything after. But now with the bad out of the way the good, I loved the sounds and the art of the game. I loved the idea and thought it was fun, I did get close to maxing it out so that must say something, Overall I would say wonderful job. I did see that I said more bad here but I put all of the starts at 4+ so I did think that it was a good game.

I thought the way the camera moves and the feeling of it going underwater was so well done. I really like the upgrades too and how they add to the gameplay. Overall, really nice job on this game!
This is a great game, one you can lose yourself grinding in, but the money bug kinda stops that in it's tracks. It also comes in randomly, with no warning. It does not crash the game - for me at least - but it does not count anything anymore, so I need to refresh, and lose all progress. I started over five times before moving on - probably a good thing, as I see myself pour endless hours into this if it was fixed.
Great iteration of an upgrades-based game. Similar to my own submission in that way. I did experience a game crash. I had upgraded a few times.. ... I would estimate that I had racked up maybe 2000 gold (but not all at once, i spent it along the way), and anyway while the hook was coming back one time, the game kinda froze. the music still played. I could not do anything... I clicked on the upgrade harpoon button and the music stopped too. But anyway, the way the hook feels when you shoot, and catch fish, all feels pretty good
This game is awesome, it's really fun to spear the fish and the upgrades feel pretty meaningful making the fishing more fun. The art is great too! My coins were set to null one time and on my next run the game froze, but outside of the occasional bug this game is great!
Very fun game! Love the spin on a fishing game. The controls were really smooth, and it felt good to catch a fish. It was fun trying to get them all! Very satisfying to manipulate the harpoon in the water. The upgrade mechanics were well thought out and impactful, you immediately felt like your harpooning got better with each one. I swear I never saw that fourth fish though, it is my white whale.
At some point my coins went <null>, so I had to restart. I also thought that the rocks underwater would interfere with the harpoon, and was kind of disappointed they didn't. Like the game made me feel like I wanted to weave the harpoon around obstacles and into tight passageways and whatnot, because I liked the feel of the harpoon so much.
Really nice work!
The feel of the harpoon plunging into the water in conjunction with the sound effects are so satisfying, great job!
Easy to play and very fun! I love the uncertainty of each shoot and the harpoon can reach very deep.
The art style is very clean and cohesive!
Enjoyed the gameplay, too, understanding that it's something that had limited time for development. Had the same <null> thing happen before I could get my harpoon upgraded enough to make further progress.
Generally agreed about the more player input component: would be nice to have sort of, idk, balance bar or mini-game-styled element for completing the catch of a fish. Two ideas that come to mind are from RPGS, e.g. a bar that you have to move to match the movement of the fish (Breath of Fire III) or a button mash kind of deal where you have to hit the button fast enough before the fish pulls away from your line. Or maybe button combinations?
Either way I think it's a good starting point!
Sorry about the <null> bug, glad you liked the game anyway! Love the suggestions, we were actually going to implement similar ideas but we chose to focus on polish (though ended up having a bunch of bugs anyway haha). We actually did this project with only 5 days as we missed the start date haha.
Thanks for playing!
the fish art makes me think of Dredge a bit, wish the fish pulling mechanics would require more input though, to convey that feeling that I am pulling a tough fish
Fun game, I enjoyed it a lot but it crashed at some point when i got too deep
I had a lot of fun playing this! I was able to almost fully level up without issues, and then the money went <null>. I couldn't find one of the fish, but was able to catch the rest. The harpoon was a lot of fun, I just wish it didn't go so far off-screen. I realized halfway through you can control the direction once it's shot.
Very nice and addicting gameplay! Unfortunatly it crashes when I upgraded and try to catch some fish. Try it couple times but still crash. Overall I gave full stars. Like this game :)
