How to properly get back on track

I'm confused. I took many rests from developing because of life issues, and even them I am clumsy on the usual activities. Past years I was fully secure on what I was doing, but not any more. I say rests but I would still write, draw or tinkering with engines. It would be very little in comparison.

I want to take advice to go back to the mindset of actively create and share again. Not thinking on it but acting. Anything can be useful, thanks.

This is something I've struggled a lot with too, and I find the only way to be truly effective about creation is to make it a habit, make it part of your routine. You can't wait for inspiration, you gotta just do the work and trust the process, and don't be too much of a perfectionist.

If it's been a while consider making small steps and building up to the level you want. Burnout can set you back to failure. Work life balance is important.

My best suggestion is to simply play games preferably your favorite games. The joy from playing should inspire you to make games.

Maybe you should just play some games, get a small game idea, and try making it. Making a small game, but actually finishing it, even if you made the game in one day can help to boost your motivation again.

Just make a small game.  A simple arcade game with progressively more difficult levels and some mechanic that helps make it unique.

I emphasize simple. :)

My secret favorite genre is educational RPG games, you can really try anything and make it work.

Dedicate a fix amount of time to game development each week. It can be as little as 2 hours. And work on something small that you can play. Be proud of the playable game you made. Polish it later if you feel like it.

it's a good Idea to get in a better mind set but you need to find another site to do it on you can't trust this one.
