We created a site for Indie developers to promote their content

Hi there!

We have just re-launched our site, adding features where users can share and promote all kinds of Indie content.

As fans of Indie content, Indie game developers, and fans of itch games in particular, we have noticed that there don't seem to be any good places to promote this content, so we created one such site specifically for this purpose.

Not only can you share your games, videos, assets, reviews, podcasts, articles, streams, etc, on indie-wall.com, but it boasts an innovative system where the points that you award to the content posted on the site acts as an investment. When users award points to content posted on the site, the posters receive these points which they can award to other content, or their own. The first few users that award points to a post also receive a share of all future points awarded to that post.

If you made it this far, we hope that you will share comments or suggestions about features or improvements you would like to see to the site. Even if you don't feel like using the site, we hope that you will take this opportunity to suggest cool content that you found on itch.

Thank you. :)

Honestly I do not really understand which "gap" your site fills, that is not already covered by itch.io? Maybe you could explain it in a bit more detail ...

You could share not only games and assets, but videos, streams, articles, reviews, tools and more.

Unlike most other sites, you can put the points your posts get from other users back into promoting your own content, and if you award points to other posts and content, a share of all future points that others give that same content comes back to you. Essentially you get rewarded for rating and interacting with other users' content as well.

What you post doesn't necessarily have to be something that you made, but it does have to be related to Indie.

Itch.io is dead it covers nothing.

Yeah Imma need some more details than just a blog post with no substance or link to it.

Cool :D

Here is a short and simple explanation of some things that make the site unique:

How it Works

Just want to share some of the itch gems that have been posted recently:

Chtonic

PolyTrack

Metropolis 1998

Net.Attack()

Spectre WEB

Travel Journal of Short Tales

The Greatest Story Ever Told 3

Tank Warz!

Power Network Tycoon

If you made a cool game, asset, music, tool, video, etc, let us know. If you know of someone else's hidden gem, just as well, you can still post it. You receive the points that others award you, and can use them to promote your own content.

thanks alot for the shoutout! as i said on the site im currently working on an  update for TGSET 3, and im actually pretty close to finishing it, so heres a video of probably my favorite addition so far, a game over screen that changes with every friend you recruit:

(+1)

that's great!
do you accept nsfw content?

(+2)

We do, as long as it is appropriately tagged.

Ok, guys, here's my feedback.

(This is not a complaint, I am saying this to help you)

I am one of the highest point scorers on indie wall (650 at the moment).

But the site only gave me one visit.

I think the developers would be more motivated if they saw more visits, and you could do that by promoting the site more to people, I recommend you do it on reddit.

Thank you. It is difficult promoting something, but we keep at it.

In the case of adult games, only people that are signed in an have opted to see adult content would see it.

that's the other problem, the site doesn't save the login, to see the adult content you have to log in again, and many people don't do that.

https://xx696.itch.io/lila

https://xx696.itch.io/killwill

Damn, these look so cool.

I basically have no interest in modern FPSs, but these oldschool ones have a magnetic pull.

Just love that title image for KillWill too, the angular nature of it. Was that done by hand?

Published my games in there

Cool, it looks like you also spent your points. Some users are used to other sites and don't do that.

I like your strategy of making the Windows version free.

(+1)

So, what do the points actually do?  Do they factor into placement on the front page?  If so, what keeps the front page from being dominated by long-standing popular games, like the Itch "top-rated" tab?  I see a mix of old and new entries on the front page.

(+1)

They do serve as a sorting factor, however to prevent the case of most sites that promote what is already popular, new content is more important on the front page.

The points are also a reward for engagement on the site. Most people post their games and move on, but even just logging in to the site semi-regularly will result in more points for the user. Rating and commenting (especially commenting) the content of others' gives the most points.
