My childhood dream was to create a game, but I made my first one when I was 28 years old :')

I was around 30 something

I started pretty early, back in middle school with Game Maker… I’ve never sold any indie games though, I just treat this as a hobby. I technically have shipped a commercial title, but that was a porting job for work rather than something I published myself.

I was in middle school my games weren't good but I am proud of them.

so old i really wouldnt like to say lol

lol xD but no matter the age one should have fun with videogames, lol, I'd like to play them even when I become very very old and probably even develop :D

I made my first game, an implementation of Othello, when I was in high school, in BASIC on an Apple II+ (and then a 6502 assembly version that played really fast and incorrectly, and then a parallel processing version in college for my thesis), but I didn't work for a game studio until I was 35, started self-publishing on app stores in my 40s, and finally on Steam (and itch.io of course) in my 50s.

Hi! This exciting story for motivation! You are perfect!

wow that's awesome dude,  living that dream

Uh... I'm 42, and my game was uploaded here this year... better late than never, I guess

I think I was 12/13 when I first published my games, though they were crappy text-based games I uploaded to a previous and pretty bad version of my website. I also tried selling CDs of my games to other middle schoolers and learned the hard way you can't trust middle schoolers to keep their word on paying you, lol.

In high school, someone gave me a floppy disk (5 1/4 inch, the truly floppy floppies) full of pirated games, and I found my game on it. So I guess I was published back then!

I used to make ridiculous Flash games when I was like 20 years old :-D

I am 35 and i just made my first game. It's a bit late to start learn coding and unity, but it was a child dream to make a point and click adventure in the old Lucas Arts Look. Now my dream is to have a team and make something bigger :-)
