Really great work everyone! Can't wait to play more on Wednesday, 6/18, at 6pm PST! Games are chosen from a random wheel, so pop by and maybe yours will be picked!

Good work everyone! Super proud of every participant, whether you managed to submit or not. I hope you all learned something new about game development! I can't wait to play all your games on stream starting today!

Below are the stream times I currently have planned. Once the game jam has concluded I will be streaming every single one of the entries on my YouTube channel: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCMVFXjnAFK_ofFa3rxpKVaA

I will stream Monday 6/16, Wednesday 6/18, and Thursday 6/19 at 6pm PST for at least 3 hours depending on how many entries we get. Hopefully that will cover most of them, if not I will schedule more time to stream ASAP.

I will timestamp each stream for each game that appears and will create a playlist of streams. Streams will stay up permanently on my channel. This thread will be updated with links and more information in the coming days.

Totally acceptable to use your library of music so long as none of it was created specifically for the game jam prior to June 7th. If it’s old music, go for it!

LonaRPG has left an irreversible mark on my psyche... So yes.

If you follow the proper instructions from the asset creator then yes. It is on you to ensure assets are properly credited / are legally obtained.

If you are making assets SPECIFICALLY FOR THE GAME then those must be created during the jam period. If you just want to use existing assets, like art you made for another game or a paid tileset, in your submission, then that is acceptable. Anything specific to your entry (besides concept art or brainstorming) must be done during the jam period.

As long as you own it (or have a license to use it) it is fair game! Good luck to you and your daughter!

All is well so long as it adheres to the theme! Deck based might be hard in the engines allowed in this jam, but if you can do it, why not! I love seeing people get creative and push boundaries.

I hadn't heard of it but seems okay to me, I will allow it. I'll update the rules.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, we now have prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well! This results in a total of $200 in prizes!

RPGmaker likes to completely break when the refresh rate isn't "normal". I'm not sure if there is a way to bypass this or to turn on that setting by default. I'll take the blame for not knowing how to code a solution tho. Hope you still enjoyed the game.

Played this because I'm it. Mastapiece.

The only thing I could think of is that the game doesn’t run on Linux, so if you’re trying to run it on that it won’t work. Additionally, make sure you’re extracting the files from the zipped folder before you run them!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! And thank you for taking the time to watch :)

Glad to see a new member of the croutons <3 Hoping you enjoy the videos, and I’m glad you found the criticism helpful! You’ve got a fantastic game here that really inspired me to add some elements to my own. Great job you guys!

(1 edit)

Part 1 of my playthrough is out now: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fh9GKxFwyAQ Part 2 comes out tomorrow, and if you’re more interested in hearing feedback I leave most of it at the end of Part 2.

(Spoilers Ahead)

To summarize, I enjoyed this game. I think it did a lot right with the atmosphere and writing, and that intro is without a doubt one of the absolute best intros I have ever scene. However, while playing some things in the moment threw me off. I wouldn’t say things like the desk pushing puzzle or the seemingly rapid pace Kat experiences mental decline inside of the fairly normal looking door ruined the game for me, but they weren’t ideal, especially the later scene. While looking back on that scene now I find it more passable, in the moment I was confused on what the tone of that scene was trying to be, and it felt kind of unearned when Lat had her mental breakdown in the elevator. That might just be me, but I figured I’d let you know! Congrats on having a successful launch, and best of luck with your game!

Oops I meant to send you this before:

Hope you enjoy!

Great idea for an addition! I’ll see if I can push her to do that if and when we work on any more games together!

Thank you so much! You brought a big smile to her face XD

I would love to make a sequel with her! I'll have to ask, but if we ever get around to it I will be sure to let y'all know!

awe thank you 😊 You made her day XD

Thank you! We had a fun time making it and I definitely recommend doing it with your sibling, really an eye opening experience and makes you appreciate how far you have come. I’ll make sure to send your congrats her way!

Yes, although I still won't use one I feel it an unnecessary ban.

I enjoyed what little of the game I was able to explore, due to the large number of bugs

Anytime! It was a very enjoyable experience and I look forward to the full release!

A very beautiful, well written and enchanting tale. I truly enjoyed my time with it, and hope to see more in the future! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AEkMybabzxs

It was literally just the cartoon filter in gimp. Took me 1 minute to make. Glad you enjoyed lol

That’s great! I’m sorry I didn’t know, guess I just downloaded the first time and didn’t really come back for the updates. Sorry about that!

Townhouse exterior and school exterior would be very nice to have. I mean, considering this is a school tileset XD

Pretty good roast Sky. It’s interesting to see your take on this since it is very different than the feedback I have been receiving. You feel the puzzles are too easy? That’s possible however I don’t want them to be too difficult for those who are not amazing at puzzles and I have received feedback that they are in a good place, but I’ll tweak with it a bit. I understand the story feeling incoherent since that was my biggest difficulty getting right. No, you shouldn’t be taking the game seriously, no game of mine should be taken that way. Thanks for your honest and lengthy review, I’ll tweak things to the best of my ability and hopefully things will end up meeting your standards. Have a good day :)
