Hello! Thank you for playing my submission last year. I was reviewing some old code and found the bug that was causing the stuttering issue you described. I have uploaded a fix, thank you for your feedback and happy jamming!

Sure! This project was done entirely in Godot 3.4

Love your character design and animations!

This was a lot of fun. I am a huge fan of roguelikes! The only constructive criticism that I can offer is that maybe use a different font? It was particularly difficult to read in menus. Other than that, I had fun!

Love the aesthetic here! Definitely one of my favorites submissions.

I am glad you enjoyed it. I do wish that I had spent more time making levels, but I chose to crush bugs for a few days instead. Thank you for playing!

Thank you so much for the feedback, I totally agree about the chiptune music. I experimented with several different sound profiles and many of them were very grating. Ultimately the sound effects were done with BFXR, while not quite the same sound profile as GB hardware, it was close enough to feel like it and I was much happier with the results. Unfortunately I ran out of time to keep experimenting with the sound, but c'est la vie. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Time - 21:42
Deaths - 149
Jumps - 546
Gold Squares - 20/20

This is my favorite entry into the jam so far. Controls are excellent, it is visually cohesive and the iteration loop is very snappy. Reminds me of playing Celeste in many ways.

Interesting concept, if I might note just a couple things.

1. The audio can be painfully loud at times and too quiet at other times. There is no shame in aggregating sound effects from across the web, but I would recommend learning a little about audio processing and using something like Audacity to help balance your audio clips across the board.

2. It looks like you have some really interesting lore for your game that you are excited to share! However, I would avoid adding things like an un-skippable text crawl to the beginning of your game, and I would focus more on some of the environmental storytelling aspects. The best way to get other people to care about your lore is to let them experience it as they explore the game!

I don't intend to come off as harsh, I can see the excitement and energy behind this project and that is invaluable. Keep coming back to this, and KEEP publishing. Receiving feedback can be difficult, but it is so important to your growth as a developer. Take the criticism with a grain of salt. Something that I have learned is that people are usually correct about WHAT is wrong with your game, but they aren't always correct as to WHY it is wrong or HOW to fix it.

Anyway, good job. I look forward to seeing this project grow.

I love this concept, my only complaint is the controls. As others have already mentioned they feel "floaty", and (if you are planning on tweaking the game after rating has ended) I might suggest that grow/shrink is bound to a single key press as a toggle. Otherwise love what you have done here!

I really wanted to add music, unfortunately I ran out of time. Thanks for playing!

What!? Enterprise? I'm afraid you must be mistaken. This is nondescript starship flight simulator 2021. Totally unaffiliated with any brand or intellectual property.

Unfortunately, there was no sound, because I ran out of time. Although... I suppose there is no sound in space anyway. 😜 Thank you for playing!

What a game! One of the few games submitted that has actually made me laugh out loud. This concept is so fun and creative! 10/10 what a good boy!

I love the sound and visual style, this game has a very solid aesthetic. +1 for the vibes.

What a wild game! I love this concept and I think it was very well done. This is definitely in the top 5 games I've reviewed so far.
P.S. I forgot to mention that the visual style and audio is just perfect. Again, well done.

Solid concept, well executed, great work.

Alright, I can get behind this game. I love racing games and I love that you took the time to add a little story. The game plays alright, and I can't pick out anything specifically wrong with it. Great work!

What a fantastic concept! Well executed and fun, there is not much else to say.

What a fantastic game! I applaud you for implementing a hexagonal grid at this resolution! Everything was very clearly communicated to the player, the sound, animations, and enemy design were all great. By far my favorite submission so far. Truly 10/10.

The animation was great here! Movement were communicated really well visually. Also +1 because I didn't expect to see a fighting game among the submissions. Great work!

I loved the variety of enemies and abilities here, with a decent soundtrack and visuals to boot! Great work!

Unfortunately, I could not finish the game. I would get stuck mid-air and I could no longer jump.

Very brave attempting procedural generation for a jam, I will applaud you for that! I do wish there were more details or variations here and there because the rooms felt big and empty. I like what you did with the audio, it was probably my favorite part. All in all, great work!

I really love your color palette and backgrounds, but I don't think this is rendered in true 64x64. From what I can tell, it looks like the gameplay is rendered in 64x64 but the interface is not?

I am a sucker for this visual style because I really love isometric art and I love your palette. Choosing an isometric perspective for this jam was very brave and I applaud you for that alone. I think the game is somewhat hard to learn, but given the jam restrictions that is understandable. Great work!

I love how much you were able to communicate in the space available. This game has a very strong aesthetic!

This was a very interesting concept! I love that you made it with Godot!

I love the concept! It was bit hard to make out at first, but I'm always a sucker for Godzilla!

There seems to be an issue on some machines allocating enough heap space to load sounds, resulting in the game crashing or not opening. Try running the application from the command line using the -Xmx argument to increase the heap size of the JVM (e.g. java -jar -Xmx1g Blud.jar).

Love it!
