Thank you so much fro trying out the game and giving feedback!

Well with every new patch comes new bugs! This bug is now hotfixed and secrets are now not that secret!

I'm so happy you enjoyed the game :) It meant a lot to me.

Thanks for playing the game:)

This a bug that happens when you gave many items and the location tries to offer a new one from an empty array.

This bug is fixed and the next patch will hopefully arrives soon.

Thank you for reporting.

Nice puzzle game and relaxing music :)

simple and fun!

That was great! Thanks for giving me your honest critique. It was so helpful and I will try to adjust the game based on what you said in the video. Thank you so much again :)

Thank you so much :) I appreciate that!

Lets see the video first...

Good game :) Well done.

And also nice art!

Nice visuals :) Animal survivors!

Hi!

I made a tile-drafting game heavily inspired by Blue Prince, and called Blue Princess. If you enjoyed Blue Prince, you will definitely love this game made in smaller scope for faster runs and more chaotic drafts, while having almost no puzzle elements, making the game accessible for everyone.

The game also features many unique heroes to play each run, different game modes, many achievements, secrets, etc.

You can play the game in your browser (PC or Phone) for free in the link below or download it:

https://goodguygames.itch.io/blue-princess

And if you have any ideas/critiques/suggestions, please comment here or in the game's itch.io profile.

Thank you :)

I read some of the articles you mentioned, and although I'm not an expert, I don't like that restricted definition of a Strategy game. Its not like FPS or Sports category which are self explanatory, but rather can be applied to almost any game, so defining it is difficult.

Anyway, from now on, I have to think twice before choosing my games' tags!

Thanks again for your great post buddy :)

Well tags are very important and sadly I'm not using them correctly. But your explanation makes the problem (and the solution) easier to understand.

I place both rogue-like/lite tags because as you said, most people don't differentiate between the two and often search one instead for the other.

Main tags don't offer that much variety to choose from (and that's reasonable), but I thought Strategy was the best fitting. I think checking Blue Prince's tags is a good idea if I want that game's player base to follow my game too.

Thanks for the great advices dude : They were so insightful.

My problem is not with indexing, promoting or anything, I make games for fun, but the sudden change of instant index to many days makes me believe that there is something wrong with the system. Why some games indexed instantly, (without review of course) while some other take days/weeks to be indexed. The problem is with the indexing system, if I publish the same games from before, they are going to be indexed after some days, not instantly. Nothing changed in my games, but the timing required for them to be indexed changed for no reason.

I think games that are going to be indexed should get an estimated time-to-index. Right now I have to wait for an unknown amount of time just for my game to be indexed. (yes, you don't need to tell me waiting for indexing is not a good strategy, etc. etc. you already made that point correctly and clearly! But my problem is something else and I hope I made it clear.)

What type of tags do you generally advice me to add in my games?

Ok that helped a lot.

But that's odd (and not satisfying) anyway, moving from everything being indexed instantly for 2 years to suddenly nothing indexed even after 8 days!

Thank you again.

Why did it not appear on most recent page then (As its a very good way of promotion, and it can also lead to popular and recent, which is even better for promoting)? When will it be on recently published games then? After approval, or never?!

Good to hear that's being implemented :)

The problem is not indexing, its the game/post not appearing at all, for the first time in 2 years of me publishing games on this site. I'm searching for the root of this problem not promoting this game only.

I think if there is a queue in which games wait to be approved before being published on the site, at least the developer should be aware of it, not thinking there is a bug (like instead of "published"  tag, it gets "waiting for approval" tag or something like that, which is already exists in many various sites).

Well first of all thanks for answering me, but 8 days is A LOT considering my past games (7 games) were published instantly (+countless of instantly published posts), so there IS a problem and as I said, the problem is that I can't publish any game/post for some reason. How can I fairly promote a game that has already lost so many ways of promotion!

Hi!

So I recently (8 days ago) published a game (Blue Princess) and a devlog post about its release, but no matter how hard I tried, I didn't get to find them anywhere on the site (not on most recent, not by searching and not by scrolling the whole itch games page).

I read the post about visibility and indexing, and everything is ok; its checked as public (both options unchecked), it has cover image and screenshots, has downloadable content, etc., its free and does NOT have any NSFW content.

Up until now, eveytime I uploaded a game/post, it instantly appeared on the site, but now, everything has changed. Even publishing new game/post for test also makes no difference. So I think the problem is not with the game, but rather the site or my account.

I even emailed the itch.io support, but after 8 days and 2 emails, still no response from them.

So can anyone help me here?

Thank you :)

it looks like a fun game, but i can't understand the language!

Nice little game with very good art!

The gameplay was simple yet funny. Also thinking of combos and different interaction between rooms was interesting. Nice game made for a game jam :)

Nostalgia...

Good job!

Played the game again. The game lacks a goal. Its just expand your territory and place more monsters and collect more gold. There is no threat, no goal, no quest, no story, nothing. This removes the motivation to play the game for more than 10 minutes (at least for me!).

thank you :)

i stopped this project because exactly 1 week later riot just announced it's own version of my game!

No i just got a headache! i reached level 10.

Fun game, but it's like playing in a nightmare! So chaotic!

The game looks nice, but the moment i click on the gold icon above the creature to get it, the game crashes. dunno if its my problem or a game bug.

The Coin Flipping mechanism is annoying imo! But the aesthetics are good.

Fun and cute experience. Won the first time in survival mode, easy but challenging enough. Well done!

Nice comic. Nice illustrations and good guides. I also loved the blue prince, despite not completing it 100%!

Hi!

This game was supposed to be a fun racing game, but no matter what, I couldn't even get close to other racers in the first tract. I don't know if it was my bad or the game's bad design. I even tried it with touch screen, but nothing changed. Good job btw :)

Hi!

Played the game. It was fun but a little repetitive. Also I don't know what was the reason behind the fact that our units were stronger when we had control of them.

And having the same units as a reward in a reward menu is a waste of an option for the player.

Well done btw :)

Nice visuals, loved that!

Very cute and simple game.

Nice looking demo! Looks like an enter-the-gungeon-like game.

Very fun and creative game. Liked the aesthetic of the game. It wasn't that hard, but challenging enough to create satisfying, fun and sometimes "aha!" Moments. Well done!

Fun concept. It was simple, familiar, yet interesting with good twists. It just lacks some joker cards!

nice looking game with an interesting idea.

Fun concept and fun art, but the huge amount of randomness and the lack of control/knowledge of what's about to happen next is frustrating.

Maybe adding rerolls in both phases helped a little.

Thank you :)

Yeah I think having less AI levels but more focused AI is generally better.

Hi!

So recently I released version 0.1.2 which was a before-vacation update. Now that I'm on a 2-weeks vacation, I won't update the game like before, but that won't stop me from posting devlogs and so.

In this devlog I'm going to talk about the AI in the game and my plans for it.

The current AI system is just not that fun, and most of the times you end up just playing the first or the last AI levels. The in-between levels are neither hard for the player to spend time with, not that different from each other so the player could sense the feel of winning a stronger opponent.

So, with that said, In the near future I'm gonna remove this system of progressive AI levels with something simpler but more noticable to the player. I may design a 5-level AI that starts from the simplest and easiest of them all, focused on first time players and those who want to test things, up to the best and most complicated AI for those who want a true test of skills. This 5th level of AI will be something completely new compared to the other four, which will make the base of my AI design for not just this game, but also my future projects that would have an AI system somehow implemented in them.

That's the reason why I didn't implement a new AI level this patch and instead tried to start working on a new and more responsive AI system.

What's your opinion about the current AI system and also about my plans for the future?
