Wow I can't believe it took me so long to get to this game. It was beautiful and really cozy. I've always enjoyed landscaping and such. I'm really glad you had time to implement a day-night system since it gives the player so many options. It's a very clever idea. Well done and very good job. Also the focus setting change in the camera was the icying on the cake. There's a minor bug in which the mouse drifts down unless it's perfectly centered, but it might be just a bad load or the fact that I played on the web. Do you plan on develop it further? I really liked it.

Also, did you use a shader for the environment? it has a really pretty paper-like feel.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed it, but I’m probably not continuing on this project. Not exactly sure what you mean by environment. The skybox and distance fog is just unity built-ins. There’s a noise effect on all the textures which is done through a shader, maybe that?

That's probably it! Nicely done

I adored this game, I wish there was a longer, more complete version of this. The music suits perfectly and makes the game feel so chill, I love that we can get money by just waiting a few seconds, it makes the game more peaceful to me (not sure if that was intentional or just to help us testing the game quicker?). I loved taking pictures and being able to hand them, I also like that whatever I order comes random haha I did get a jump scare when I was ran over by the delivery truck LMAOO

I also wish there was a way to manually focus the camera instead of letting it focus automatically, it gets a bit blurry in some areas, but it still looks very beautiful.

I'm also not sure how you were able to do all of this in just 3 days!! Amazing!

Thank you for the kind words :D I thought about manual focus too, but I think the controls are confusing enough XD, and it would add some learning curve to using the camera. For the development I used a bunch of free assets for the models (you can probably tell which are mine and which are taken), sounds and particle effects. I also scavenged some code from other projects. Other than that I guess I just decided on an idea early and locked in for the rest of the weekend.

Pretty much every action was very satisfying to do. Very relaxing.

Such a lovely, cozy little game! I would love to see a longer version of this.

This was sooo lovely and cozy! The mechanics are so impressive for a 3 day jam!! We had a camera mechanic in our game too, but this camera seems to be more advanced (with zoom / focus etc). And the fact you can upload the photos and see photos from other people is super cool! (Although, it took me quite a few attempts to get the photo into the postbox, but I guess there is no jam game without bugs). I wonder if a "creative" mode where you could just place any items you want anywhere could be fun too, instead of having to wait for money and get the items randomly.

Beautiful and relaxing~ i loved the idea of a van bringing the itens to me!

A surpisingly interesting and unique game. Well done.

So fun!! I found out that if you move further away from the center area the scaling gets weird!

I had so much fun with this, great game.

I’ve made a staircase towards the sun, I’ve made flowerpots the size of mountains and sunflowers so long and so stretched that they have become unrecognizable. I’ve glitched my way out of the map and I am going to see if you can pick up the sun. 11/10

So it was cute and pretty but.... I did not like how random the items were, no matter which category you picked. I paid for plants, got shelves and boulders. Paid for lights, got fire pits and a dot called a string light that gave no light at all just looked like a little firefly sitting on the ground. lol, cute but no light. lol.

Would love to play a later version of this really. I loved the concept. ahh the camera was.. off to the side for pictures and I couldn't drop any into the mail.

This game's art and music really cranked the cozyness up tenfold! I really admire your placement system and would love to know how you made it work. Some things I would change include:

  • Inputs were slightly confusing, I kept having to reference the itch page. Mousewheel alone to switch items would be enough, for example.
  • Maybe a way to earn money rather than a slowly generating money pool? Maybe you sell your photos?
  • I couldn't get the mailbox working :( (Desktop version)

Overall great job!

Glad you enjoyed it! You’re right that the controls are a bit too complicated, I should’ve done more playtesting to work it out more. Same goes for the credits system.

This is a really cute game! It incorporates a lot of mechanics that are in current popular games and displays them in a unique way!

This is a very special little game.

I could play it for hours!

So I saw the flowerpot and was like: alright I can place plants. Thats kinda neat but nothing special but then...
I noticed you can put things sideways and not just horizontal. You can build the wildest random assortments of things and because they are attatched you can then pick them alltogether and create these bizzare art pieces of trees growing in different directions.

The lights were also pretty neat. Especially when the night came. - pros for adding day/night cycle.

I have one point of criticism and that since you are not making a monetized mobile game you don't need to have slowly replenishing money pool. Just let us order quadrilion trees and plant a fey forest

Developer

Thanks for playing! Regarding the money pool, I tried to get the player to think about what they actually wanted instead of just getting everything. I also thought it helped the gameplay loop of order stuff -> build -> take photos -> repeat, instead of just building all the time. Lastly I wanted the player to get a bit excited every time they could order, in case a photo would arrive (though I know that system is not working rn). But I do see where you’re coming from, maybe I should’ve increased the rate, or made it exponential so you start off poor but can splurge later.

A cute idea to let the player design and photograph the environment.

I couldn't get the letter box to work but posting the pictures on the wall was nice, too.

I've planted a tree in middle of the road and then planted flowers on the tree. :D
