You’ve got me crying in the club right now. So sweet, the choice of music, the dialogue, just sappy enough to be devastating.
I watched the stream and got the story spoiled for me but just as sappy the second time through.
THANK YOU!!!
I knowwww, I should have figured out how to do web builds like a week ago! I will release a web build the moment the jam is over, hopefully not toooo late so people can play soup while the hype is still alive :)
That’s the second request for clarity / a tutorial so I will for sure look into that!
Thank you so much Meg, you bring so much energy to the jam, wouldn’t be half as fun without you.
I love this so much! great work.
I know overcooked has been mentioned but it is similar, which is a good thing, both games are great!
The character reminds me of a Mii from Wii, super cute and bouncy. I would love to see this expanded on with new models, a more complex layout for the kitchen, maybe more stations. Solid foundation for a great game :)
Great work!
Very rollercoaster-tycoon! As other commenters said this is fantastic and it could be a great park-management game.
The buildings come together like legos when you repair them and I love that. I wish it had the lego building sound effect :)
I know you made it relaxing for the game, but if you decided to come back and make there be a way to lose, it would add more reason for strategy!
Not quite as cool as Norm’s Face! https://rkillen.itch.io/norms-face-20
Anyone reading this check out Norm’s Face, made by this guy! Not for the Cozy Jam but fantastic none the less.
Sorry for the delay getting back to you! You’re so rad, thank you for playing our game!
I didn’t have time to give any feedback for stirring the pot, so I’m glad you liked that part especially.
I loved your game so much, I’ve never felt so attached to a spirit who ruins my garden. Maybe I should add angry spirits to Soup!
I’m at a loss for words!
You are so kind, I am so glad you played our game! The artist on our team is incredibly skilled, I am so lucky to get to work with her.
I’m taking your advice and once the Jam is over I’ll be posting the Web build for the game and future games I make!
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback. Coming from someone as experienced, and who has worked on as many games as you have, it means a lot. :’)
I’m glad I installed VR Chat for this one! Fantastic visuals and I’m looking forward to playing more of it!
I don’t have a VR headset, but i was at least able to walk around without it.
I think there was quite a bit more for me to explore, but I was unable to pick up or do much with the flowers I found and I don’t thing clicking with the headpatter did anything. Without a headset I can’t move my hands enough to interact with the flowers I think.
Still great and I’ll put it on my wishlist so when I have a VR Headset I can come back and check it out!
The stirring, scooping, displaying of the soup, and the shop were all thrown together in the last few hours of the jam so I wish I had had time to give them the polish they deserved! I really appreciate the feedback
The huge pumpkins that are too large for the pot will stay forever, even if we update this one a dozen times :)
So fun! The characters are all so fun, the ingredients look great, overall so polished and well done.
Just phenomenal. I made a similar game (about making cureses instead of potions) a year ago for a different jam and this has so much that I wish I had in that one. The character interactions are fun and witty, the recipes are specific and have layers of complexity, you rocked this.
Awesome game! We ended up with pretty similar layouts for our tiles lol, I ended up filling the whole screen with low-income housing pretty quick and just watching the number tick up was fun.
I can imagine you expanding this and adding more upgrades / structures and resources pretty easily, excited to see what you y’all come up with next! loved the sprites especially.
Edit: Forgot to mention but the exploding tiles are so neat! makes me want to get back into 3d games.
Such a complete game in such a short time! Great work, I had a lot of fun trying different combinations and seeing what worked! I had a couple times I thought I had an order made right but the customer got mad anyway! (just like real customers)
You use a lot of slang that I do not use over here so it was neat to figure out what a “fish finger” was
This is so cool! I think what you did with the sprites, having multiple stages in their growth and having them slowly scale as they grow was so cool.
Such a clever way to allow players to re-arrange the pots too! Giving depth to a 2d scene without parallax or a perspective change is neat.
So glad I got to check it out, great work :)
