Description
4 Songs to tell a story of fixing time's source itself.

The Edge Of Reality (Title Screen) : A sombre tune, detailing the weight of the situation at hand. The hourglass holding time itself together is running out. The world is stagnating, what will be done to stop it?

The Shattered Hourglass (World Theme #1) : Floating in the sky is the hourglass, you are extremely far away from reaching it. Here this song plays as you make your way across the twilight lands to the clocktower that reaches to the sky, far beyond the others.

Ascending The Twilight Spire (World Theme #2): You've reached the clocktower. Now begins your treacherous climb to the peak, so you can fix time itself, before it's too late & everything that has ever happened will become NULL.

The Endless Marching Of Time (Escape Theme): You're ALMOST there, but as you near the top, the tower crumbles. Here this theme plays as you race to the top before the ground crumbles beneath you & reach the hourglass of twilight to save all timelines in existence.

All these songs were made in FL Studio & loop seamlessly, with the right version.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
First & foremost, I created the art, so I had some basis of what to compose the soundtrack of.
Some songs start in 60 BPM, some have clock sounds & bells embedded into them. Also tempo changes either for tension increase or added excitement :D
Also just generally my imagination of what climbing a clocktower would be like & personally, I think it'd be pretty damn thrilling!

Your soundtrack overflows with mystery and melodies that contain twists and turns. I loved the soft, moody moments in your tracks - they let the listener absorb the atmosphere of your imagined game world. But my fave track was "The Endless Marching of Time" - the addictive beat and slightly jazzy melody had me swaying along, and the instruments you chose complemented each other wonderfully. Masterful work.

That's just great! Every track is unique and has it's charm! I like your style! Awesome work!

Really thought the composition and production of these tracks were excellent and they have a really lovely vibe! I especially liked The Endless Marching of Time, it definitely captures the scene you described. Great work! :)

Lovely ambience with a sweet piano melody keeping it all together. Especially in Ascending The Twilight Spire and The Edge Of Reality. The Endless... have some more punch to it which I like as a contrast to the other tracks. Well done!

amazing stuff here!! i was pleasantly surprised by the quality in all four of these.  i really enjoyed when the drums came in during "The Shattered Hourglass", and also the sheer determination overflowing from "The Endless Marching of Time". the songs felt tight, triumphant, and were just overall very well done! loved listening to these :))

The Edge of Reality: This has a Joe Hisaishi flare to it and a spacey beauty that is enhanced by the strings when they emerge. I really like how you mixed this with a lot of reverb.

The Shattered Hourglass: The guitar is such a nice touch to this track. II wasn’t expecting that beat to come in at 0:48, but it gives a really cool driving sound to the track and just helped it sound even better!

Ascending the Twilight Spire: The drums and guitar add an interesting feeling of momentum to this track more so than the piano, pads, and strings do on their own. It has a sound that sounds familiar to me but I can’t think of from where. It kind of has some similar sounds to Kingdom Hearts music.

The Endless Marching of Time: The swing feel and the bluesy notes scattered give the beginning of this a laid back feel. But then I wasn’t expecting that change to the straight beat rock section. All of the pieces of your OST seem to be getting more and more energized as we progress which is a cool effect. I really like the modulation at the end to give a “this is the last wave of enemies!” feel to the gameplay. Overall these are some creative tracks and I really like the progression throughout the story. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Absolutely love the vibe of this soundtrack. It really reminds me of some platformers I've played a looooong time ago, but I can't remember which ones... Fantastic job!!

Thanks so much :D

Music is good definitely but I mostly dropped by to say that YOU MADE THE ART!?

It looks awesome!!!

The Edge Of Reality: Effective piano and strings intro. Hollow Knight vibes! Wasn't expecting the drums and panned sfx but they elevated the track for me.

The Shattered Hourglass: Introduces electronic elements to the OST. Ooh, those drums and that arp. Unique combination of textures here!

Ascending The Twilight Spire: This is so cool, reminds me of Tales of Phantasia overworld themes (which also happens to be a game about time travel), except with higher quality instruments. Such a good track, nice job. My favorite track of this OST!

The Endless Marching Of Time: What a groove! Guitar and tubular bell combo goes too hard. Very well produced. This is a powerful finale.

Amazing work!

The pacing of your OST is fantastic, I felt tension, calm, concern, a lot of emotions. The endless marching is superb, the tension was at its peak while listening to it. Well composed, produced, amazing sound!

Great, high-quality soundtrack all around - especially love the piano flourish throughout.

The art you made gives me a pretty good feel of the kind of game to some degree, but no mention of the genre - the music would lead me to believe it was something narrative heavy, like an RPG.

Compositionally, there's great range of emotion here from sombre in the intro to a sort of melancholy pressure in The Shattered Hourglass and a glimmer of hope in Ascending the Twilight Spire. Your choice of instruments really compliment the piano and synth leads well, giving them plenty of room to shine. The energy in Endless Marching of Time is great; I would have loved to see some more of that in a battle theme if you were given the time for a full soundtrack!
Developer

Thanks so much, especially for your detailed overview :D
My mind was sitting on something like a platformer like Ori & The Blind Forest but I've spent the last few years learning general RPG music & it probably shows haha.

Yep, that's a 100% video game soundtrack. I can hear the pixel art. Love the mood and the sound. For some reason the bass groove in Ascending The Twilight Spire really stands out to me. Wait, that jazzy piano in The Endless Marching Of Time too... And how the track goes full Castlevania... Phenomenal!

Developer

Thanks so much! Yess, I'm so glad the bass groove in the first one makes the song pop so well. Great deduction from the soundtrack.

This is epic! I love the composition and arrangement, the production is crystal clear and the whole thing is a joy to listen to. The way you tracks transition from serene to intense is also really spot on. Amazing job!!

Developer(+1)

& here I was freaking out about how poorly the production sounds haha. I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

As soon as I heard the opening track, I thought I was in for something special. "The Endless Marching of Time" is incredible. Catchy, hopeful, frantic. It wouldn't sound out of place in an indie game like Deltarune. This pervading sense of overcoming hardship is conveyed perfectly through the music, which is crucial in a tower climbing game—you need the music to drive you forward through the hurdles, aiming higher and higher. Well done.

Developer

Thanks so much! You understood extremely well what I was going for with the soundtrack & im glad you enjoyed it :)

I love that you gave your work so many layers here. Really good choice to have some of the idiosyncratic rhythms persist from song to song and from section to section, it made it really come together while giving you the freedom to push the work in more directions tonally. Honestly great stuff.

Developer

Thanks tons for listening! :D

Very nice! I like how consistent the instrumentation is, without becoming too fatigued. The composition itself is already very good, and the production around is pretty professional.

It gives me kind of Celeste vibes, and just seems like the ost to a really good indie platformer, which i think was the vibe you went for.

Great job! A very enjoyable listen!

Thanks so much, glad my biggest fear of fatigue didn't apply to you xD

The guitar in Ascending The Twilight Spire was a really nice addition!

Also the chops in The Edge Of Reality!
