Description
I imagined a turn-based rpg/visual novel game hybrid named TempoRex, where people have only time related powers. The protagonist, Kumi, who has the power to rewind/reset time, has to fix/reset timelines before the multiverse collapses and battle enemies. I used FL Studio for composing the OST.
Time Fighter is the default battle theme. It's also Kumi's theme.
Accelerate is a fast-paced boss theme.
Tempus Regit, Omnia Finit is the final boss theme.
A New Era is the credits theme song.
Fond Memories and Everlasting Peace are used as background music for the visual novel parts.
Dune of Time is the main menu song.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

This was majestic! The tracks worked beautifully together to paint a rich, atmospheric, cohesive whole, while still bringing something fresh and unique each time! I'm a big fan of the adrenaline-pumping beats in the starting tracks, and the soft yet stirring melody of "Fond Memories" - but I think my favourite was your final track. The vocals caught me by surprise and they were absolutely lovely! I'm a sucker for ominous Latin lyrics bahaha.

Dune of Time: I really like the use of panning on the pad sound. The clock ticking sound works really well here. I like the sound of that flute-like synth a lot and you have a nice melody with it. I also like the melody in the high synth.

Time Fighter: The kick gives this track a lot of oomph. The melody is pretty and I think it could stand to be brought out to be more obvious. I like the use of the clock ticking.

Fond Memories: Ooh the guitar is a different sound, but adds a cozy feel that pairs nicely with that flute-like synth. The drums add a sense of motion to these memories as if they go away too fast.

Everlasting Peace: Creative use of reversed piano sounds. The drums add a sense of slowness that make this a more pensive song or one that could accompany an emotional part.

Accelerate!: The pad and flute initially give this track an exotic flavor. But then it turns into the Sandstorm-esque electronic dance track! This is really fun and gets my blood pumping and ready to fight a boss!

Tempus Regit, Omnia Finit: The vocals are very clear - great job with annunciation so we can understand what you are saying. I support your choice to use minimal drum parts while the vocals are playing so that they don’t get washed out by snare or hi-hat for example.

A New Era: When the kick drum enters, there is a groove that has a sense of finality to it that I think works really well for end credit music.

Overall: This is a unique direction for this theme and I haven’t quite heard any other submissions like it. The Tempus Regit, Omnia Finit track stands out to me with the use of vocals. Overall this was fun to listen to. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Vocals in the Tempus Regit, Omnia Finit are quite nice addon to already well made music!

My personal favourite is Accelerate! track. It has a punch!

I think the leads you used lacked body, like there were only the highs left and to compensate for that by pushing it to an audible volume, the lead was piercing at times. Other than that, the drums (especially certain kicks) and the pad choice kinda remind me of the old era of Internet music if that makes sense haha. The energetic latter half of "A New Era" was my favorite. The vocals in the last song were pretty cool too.

Thanks.

i really like how you incorporated drums into this OST. i really think it fits the vibe of the game you're going for. great job on that.

this is more of a personal issue, but i was thrown off with the way you ordered the songs in the playlist. dont know if this was on purpose or not, but it confused me for a bit while listening.

that being said i still enjoyed my time listening to this more upbeat OST. i think my favorite track had to have been the Accelerate.

the clock ticking was bound to be put into a lot of the osts for this theme but i think you used it very well in this track especially.

great work over all Theo.

Time Fighter: this is so cool. Effective intro with clock ticks to connect to the theme.

Accelerate: love the trance feel. Accelerate is a perfect title, the track gives me a racing vibe.

A New Era: A calmer track with clock ticks to indicate time. I like the drums that come in halfway.

Everlasting Peace: Very pretty, and a cool vibe at the same time. Cool drums.

Dune of Time: Ooh, this is dark. I absolutely love this combination of textures. The woodwind was a great choice to carry the melody. Damn, that synth that comes in later is cool af.

Fond Memories: Really fits the track title. A positive track to follow the darker one that came before.

Tempus Regit, Omnia Finit: Wasn't expecting the lyrical vocals. Very cool touch. This is a satisfying conclusion to the OST.

All in all great work! Dune of Time was my favorite!

very cool stuff! that last track is really cool stuff, did you use vocaloids to make that choir?

Developer

Thanks!

I used a Chinese virtual singer software named ACE Studio. It has many vocals you can use for free, all of them singing in Chinese, Japanese and English!

I was waiting for an OST that would make me dance! The 4 on the floor on Accelerate! made me so happy :D Dune of time is also excellent. I just got a bit disconnected with the visual novel background tracks, but it's personal taste. Anyway, in general it's one of my favorite OSTs so far, thanks for making me want to dance!

The style works so well for the story you’ve imagined! I love the energy, the motifs, and the production quality. It’s so cool and each track is super fun in its own way! Fantastic job!!

Really high quality production all round :) I loved the reversed melody behind the syncopated rhythm in Everlasting Peace - really spoke to the theme. And Accelerate! was a headbanger ^^ Great job!

Great sondtrack. I like the different syles and vibes of different tracks. Love how you did the choir in the Tempus Regit, really feels like a boos theme!

Time Fighter is so nostalgic, has those old-school Newgrounds vibes with the trancy feel.

Keep up the great work!

Once I realized the playlist tracks were in reverse order, I understood the cohesion of the album a lot better! I've been gravitating toward the upbeat tracks people have made for the jam, and I appreciate the high-energy contributions of the first three tracks, they really set the stage for an exciting adventure.

Very nice electronic, good job! My advice for you is to create playlist on YouTube instead of single videos, this will be much more convinient for other participants to listen.

Developer(+1)

Thanks. I will make a playlist.

The Good - The whole soundtrack is over 15 minutes long, which is a commendable feat for a jam. My favourite tracks were A New Era and Tempus Regit, Omnia Finit. (How were the vocals made?) Enjoyed them layered with the clock ticking and the other instruments. Overall there was a nice variety of instruments and themes explored.

The Bad (maybe not even bad?) - I felt that some of the tracks were a little sparse in terms of musical development. Personally, I'd choose cutting down either the length or number of tracks in order to concentrate more on individual tracks, though this is entirely down to personal preferences.

Developer

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.

The vocals for Tempus Regit, Omnia Finit were made with a virtual singer software name ACE Studio. I made them sing in Latin using English phonemes.
