Amazing game! Everything is super charming and probably my favorite bowling game I've played this jam!

Amazing job! Really nice art, nice audio, cool concept and great addition of a leaderboard! Good luck with the rankings :)

Brilliant! I definitely think this should at least make the top 100. Considering the game was nearly perfect, I hope you don't mind if I nitpick a couple of things.

I feel as though the hitbox was a bit unforgiving when the ball was above the pin. It seems the hitbox encapsulates the entire pin or at least most of it as opposed to, say, the bottom 10% or so. I think the latter would feel more appropriate given the 2.5D style. It would also lead to more satisfying dodges.

Another tiny thing was that there were multiple occasions where bowling balls were obscured by the score. Perhaps you could make the score slightly translucent, at least when a ball is behind it?

Overall, this is a 5/5

Heyo, sincerely grateful for those words! Getting to the top 100 is what we are aiming for! You're awesome! And yes, go ahead and nitpick - that's how we get better. Hitbox and score display, got it! Thanks a million for playing and loving our game. Cheers

An interesting concept for a kind of bullet hell style game! The aesthetic especially is delightful, I loved the cute little bowling ball park. The well-placed sound effects added a lot of character too. I felt that the method of movement was a little awkward, especially the way you moved automatically. I guess it just felt a little jumpy. Maybe that could be smoothed out a little bit. Overall, very cute game! I like it a lot.

Loved the idea

Nice concept, love the mechanic and the art stile is fantastic! Great work!

Cute art, but the cursor is pretty much invisible.

Looks great, I did run in to some issues with the controls when restarting though, my mouse would disappear in the game screen so I wouldn't have a good indication of where the pin was going to jump or dodge to. Outside that, great job!

Hey there! Thanks for your input, it's truly appreciated. We've opted for a pin-shaped "ghost" instead of a traditional cursor for movement indication. However, we did notice on certain screens, it might appear a tad too opaque. We're definitely open to suggestions and improvements. 😊

sooooo pretty. very good job on the art.

Beautiful presentation with a whimsical style. Controls have a bit of a learning curve, and the one-hit defeat is a bit punishing, but I definitely see the potential in the core mechanic. The tension ramps up nicely as more balls are added. Might benefit from adding upgrade milestones (e.g. survive long enough and you can increase your speed, dodge distance, etc... maybe even increase the amount of pins you can control to give you extra hits you can absorb). Very solid foundation though, can see the fun in it. Hope you keep fleshing it out! Well done :)

Thanks a ton for your feedback, really appreciate it! You're spot on about the more pins to control, in fact, it was our initial idea of giving a player control over a pack. Unfortunately,  didn't have time for that, we decided to prioritize polishing the existing mechanics over adding newer elements. Quality over quantity, right? :)

Loving the idea of upgrade milestones, it's definitely on our radar. We were focusing more on making the core game even better before adding more cool stuff. If the game does well on this jam... who knows, we might even include some of your suggestions and maybe even whip up a mobile mini-arcade!

Thanks again for the great input, means a lot to us!

Cheers!

Wow! What an excellent and well polished game!

Visuals are astonishing! Simple, fun and creative idea. Gameplay is intriguing, engaging and challenging.

It would be nice to see you expand on this with a different level, powerups, and skill upgrades.

Great Job! Keep it up!

Really fun game. The presentation is also great. How big is your team?

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! It is just two of us, but in my opinion for the 42h game jam it is more than enough. In a larger team, it would be harder to coordinate.

Super simple little game, but a load of fun and gorgeous looking. I love the background with the bowling balls all hanging out. I also enjoyed the take on theme, being the pin was fun. The leader board is a really nice addition, that'll keep people coming back. Music and sounds fit well and overall presentation was lovely. Great work!

the leaderboard makes you try really heard, love that!

the animations are cool and it is fun to play even multiple times. dope!

Got the top score on the leaderboard! Fun and simple, but the transparent cursor makes the game much more difficult to aim.

Cool idea, love the art style and the bowling ball environment above the arena. Really awesome touch.
