Wow - this is totally batshit (in a great way)  - absolutely nuts - with great sound effects

Developer

Thank you so much! I’ve always loved absurdity, and wanted to make something totally off the wall.

LOL incredible sound effects. I love them a lot!

Nicely-written cryptic hints. Without them, I'd be completely lost. :D ...Though, admittedly, I was still quite lost. I made some progress, but will need to try some more.

It could be nice to be able to see the hint text by just mousing over the objects maybe, to progress a little faster.

By the way, who is it in the "nope!" picture? Is that you? It's quite majestic.

This is the first alchemy-crafty game I've seen in a game jam. Nicely done!

Developer

I thought about using mouse-over tooltips, but for some reason it slipped my brain, and never made it to the plan list. But, I agree: I really should have implemented that as more intuitive affordance.

As for the NOPE picture. Yup. that is indeed yours truly lol!!

Oh man, those sounds are hilarious!!

Developer

Thank you so much! My sound dude does the craziest stuff!

I sat here for the better part of an hour. Still two short haha. Very fun concept and I enjoyed some of the humorous combinations!

Developer

OH Nooooo So close!! Thank you so much for the play and review! We had a total blast making it.

Original artistic direction even though I'm not very fond of it. The clues where quite cryptic, I didn't decipher them lol.

Developer

THanks a bunch for the feedback :)

Actually a very nice game! I got everything unlocked (the hyena came from the right) but hmm, was there something else as well?

Developer

If you click on the Hyena dude, he takes you to the “you win” screen, and the soundboard beyond.

The game looks nice. I'm not very good at this kind of game, so I didn't unlock everything. I got 9/16 before giving up. This is one of the weirder ones. The items, the descriptions, the combinations and the sound really enforce the weird but funny atmosphere. The wrong jingle is stuck to my ears.

Overall, great job on the game.

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback. I really did go for something Wacky, and in future projects I will be focusing a little bit more on affordance.

This game is undoubtedly outstanding. It may not fit the theme, but its polished gameplay is a big plus. I got immersed in it, trying to mix different items

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! I had a lot of fun making it!

I think this game has the most personality out of everything I've seen in the jam.

I'm not very good at doing things systematically and I could only get so far with the hints. 9/16 is the best I managed to unlock!

The animations may be a bit slow since you have to repeat them over and over again, but given the whole game is doing that it could be a bad idea to make them faster or skippable.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I love the idea of adding an afforded skip function to the anims! During the dev, I noticed I could interrupt them, and it never occurred to me to make that a feature XD XD!

Great humor!

Developer

Thank you tons!

You know this feels weirdly polished. I think that everything fits together really well. I wasn't able to get all the elements but I got a good portion. I think I was just missing like 4 by the end.

Reminds me a lot of like little alchemy or other games like that. It's probably a genre that I'm not familiar with. Good job on the game :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for your feedback! I was definitely going for the feel of one of those old alchemy games, like DoodleGod and whatnot. Most of my visual assets came from a collection I was creating of wacky monsters for a stream game I created.

Thank you very, very much! I had so much fun making it!

What did I just witness :D Reminds me of some of the element discovery games I played a few years ago, but with a weird twist, weird items and even weirder sounds :D I had to chuckle a lot with the sounds, images and descriptions! Also great job with the simple and effective animations! I had fun :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I was definitely inspired by the little discovery games you mentioned. Thank you for your compliment about the animations, too. I wanted to keep them simple, but engaging.
