Good game.

Kraken vanquised.

The game was fun, the controls, speeds and difficulty are on point and I really like the progression of both parts (you get stronger, it gets stronger) as the fight progress.

Cool atmospheric game, thanks for sharing.

Very cool submission! making the boss flash red or adding some sounds to let the player know you're hitting him would be nice. Nice work!

Developer

Yeah, I mean I have plans to add lots of stuff and make this a full Steam release with multiplayer. Deathmatch modes, ability to call in a leviathan, but the timeframe in the jam really limited how much I could add. Thanks for the kind works and checking it out, I really appreciate the feedback!

I love anything with a good cephalopod theme! But really, this was a super polished, gorgeous experience! Shooting felt very responsive, and the bullet patterns were beautiful! I'd love to see more reasons to explore the labyrinth, like hidden power ups or secret bosses. But for a jam game, this was quite solid. Great work!

Developer

thank you so much for your kind words. I intend to polish this game further and add several features including multiplayer with different game modes and many more reasons to explore the labyrinth! Like you said it's just a jam game and these things take time we just don't have!

The audio and the visuals sell this game 100%, they're really impressive. The controls are awesome too and it feels really good to play. The level is a little cramped and hard to dodge things though, so I just of just ignored the projectiles and just collect health and invincibility as they popped up. Overall really great game though, nice job! :)

Yeah, almost the entire game was built from the ground up during the jam period. Trying to make something like this in 10 days is a pretty big ask for a mostly solo project.  I had to add the health and invincibility pickups last minute as  well, because the game was basically impossible without them haha. Thanks for checking it out!

Really good game, beautiful audiovisuals, the double mouse button shoot for no reason is kinda weird but it's a good start for an interesting mechanic on separate upgrades for each shot maybe? Also, the kraken is kinda easy to dodge, as long as you keep moving, bullets don't move fast enough to reach to you.

In general was fun and beautiful to look at. Need a tutorial on how to make the minimap XD

You are exactly right about the multiple different gun options and how they were intended to be different for each side. I just ran out of time and had to take the easy way out and make them both the same, I plan to put some more work into this that will incorporate that feature. Also, drop a comment on my youtube channel if you want me to make a tutorial for the minimap. I do thing like that over there. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_yKxbSfqtU7hU9Nx03G1ww

Good art, for a moment I thought the bullets could not damage the boss directly, but I could win on the second try.

Developer

Yeah, I should have added a little more feedback to let the player know the boss is taking damage..

The idea of slowly powering yourself up in a dim environment to fight a tough enemy over a long period of time is nice, but unfortunately the way it was executed fell a bit short.

What it eventually boils down to is holding down both fire buttons (which after awhile takes a toll on the wrist) the entire time to chip away at a mostly non-threatening big enemy and mowing down tons of smaller enemies.

Developer

didn't really have time to balance things the way I wanted. Pretty pressed for time with all the features and content I was trying to put in and polish. Appreciate your feedback.

Great art, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it was a cool experience :)

enjoyable. , a bit dark for my monitor in daytime. but cool

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I always say I'm going to add an options menu to control volume and brightness to my jam games, but then I spend the whole period cramming as much content in as possible and never get around to it hahaha

this is the way

I echo what the others have said, great atmosphere and art style with a good amount of polish, a solid and enjoyable bullet hell game!

Submitted(+1)

The atmosphere and art style are really nice. The boss could benefit from a bit of animation and respond to the bullets a bit more.

Developer

Yeah, there is a lot more polish that I could have added, but I just ran out of time. Thanks for checking it out!

A polished short little experience with great atmosphere through the minimalistic audio and the visuals. I feel the theme possibly could've been implemented a bit more and the abundance of pickups made it feel a bit straightforward, but still very enjoyable overall

Developer

Thanks for checking it out. Yeah, I chose to go with limited visibility. I had planned to make a weapon cooldown system for limit ammo as well but ran out of time. thanks for checking it out!
