Ranked from 32 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
The goal of the game is to steal a certain amount of souls from humans across the map, in order to save a dying cat, and so the game matches the theme because the end of the human's life is the cat's new beginning.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes we made everything as a team on our own, aside from the sound effects which were taken from the Unity Asset Store - https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/audio/sound-fx/rpg-essentials-sound-effects-free-227708

How many hours did it take  to code this game?

Developer

Hi! Thanks for asking.  It took the entire game jam to make this game on all aspects. As for the coding part, I managed to get the main mechanics working within 4 days. After that I was focused on making improvements and fine tuning.

I enjoyed playing this game! I think the graphics are very cute and enjoyable.

Developer

Thank you so much!

This is a very pretty game with a very sad story. I had fun playing it, but I found it a bit too easy at times. Nice work overall!

Nice game, but I got stuck in the fountain at the beginning and didn't know what to do with my collected souls.

Developer

Yeah we noticed its a bit confusing the way it is,  but basically every soul you collect needs to be deposited at the statue by pressing 'e'.  Thanks for playing the game anyway :)

Some problems in layering this game, but is fun to play. Good job.

Developer

Yeah you're right, unfortunately had to rush a bit towards the end. Thank you for playing anyways 🙂

Nice one and love the characters

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Art is really cute and love the concept! Though it's a bit unclear what I'm supposed to be doing.

Developer

Thank you for the lovely feedback. Sorry you found the game confusing :s . We hope to do a better job on the next one :)

Wonderful artwork! I wasn't quite sure what to do, so perhaps a tutorial or some additional UI to give the player feedback.

Developer

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the game! After getting all this helpful feedback we understand we should've been clearer with regards to the way the game works.  At any case, thanks so much for playing!

Enjoyable game, cute graphism, nice music, it fits the theme even though it's several ends that make a new beggening! I think it's sad there isn't more, more souls to harvest, more challenge, more polish, a start screen with the controls, you know. But it's almost all crafted for the jam too, and that's great! =)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the awesome feedback! You're completely right, we could definitely use more souls to collect.  We kind of had to rush towards the end but we aim to create an improved version after the jam rating period ends. Hopefully it would be more enjoyable and clear :)

Cute game, was pretty fun! There were just a few places where it was unclear the player couldn't fit (between trees and stuff in some spots) Otherwise very good, cats are good.

Thanks so much for your feedback :)

Very nice and calm game. I really liked the art. Some issues with sorting layers and colldiers but that doest interfere with the game in any way. Good job - beautiful game.

Here is my (first) game jam entry, check it out if you like:

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I already rated your game, it's great :)

Really nice work on the visuals and audio. The theme is used really nicely in the story which is great, unfortunately I don't really understand the mechanics of the game.

Developer

Thanks for letting us know. Yeah we realize the mechanics are bit counter-intuitive. We'll try to make some improvements regardless of the jam results :)

The concept was very true to the theme of the gamejam. Controls and collision felt a little off when trying to dodge those pesky soul interceptors. Overall nice work!

Developer

Thank you for you sharing all this feedback! We really enjoyed working on this game so we'll continue for a while longer just to make this experience a bit better :)

Love the graphics but I don't understand very well the gameplay, maybe needs a tutorial in game

Really love the artwork, the concept is really fun but it was really hard to collect the 4 souls, sometimes when I led the human zombie to the statue it didn't absorb his soul, is there any condition to complete the "soul delivery"?

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words.

The way it works is really simple, once the human turns into a zombie it means you can head straight to the statue and hit 'E' on the keyboard. No need to wait for the zombie to follow. If you still have the soul of the human with you then it will go in and the orange blinking soul will turn into a happy purple cat soul :)

Thanks for playing!

Character artwork is off the charts for this one! Maybe it would be cool to add a timer, so it makes it more apparent that you need to save the cat ASAP. But overall cool simple idea, and well executed.

Developer

Thanks a lot! The artists of the team really did rock it!

The timer idea is a very interesting one. We might decide working on this game after the jam so we will definitely consider this idea :)

Thank you for playing!

Any game starring a cute kitty gets a tick in my book! Great job with the game, those shooting spirit orbs were pretty tough to dodge and there were some sprite layering issues but nothing that put me off. Managed to steal all those souls and save my kitty though so that's all that matters! Great job.

Developer

Haha glad you liked the concept and thank you for playing!

Towards the end we had to rush through stuff  so the game is not completely polished but I'm happy you managed to play it until the end anyway :)

Great artwork and audio but I couldn't figure out how to progress..

Also could you explain how you showed the screenshots on your game page?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! The goal is to find humans in the map and take their souls. When you are near one hold space until they turn into a zombie and then run quickly towards the statue to fill in the souls bar on the top right of the screen. If you are hit a few times the soul goes back into the human and you'll have to try again. You win once all 4  human souls are collected.

Regarding the screenshots, once you upload them to the project you need to go the game page and click the Edit Theme button. Over there you should see an option to show the screenshots dropdown.
