Beautiful game! Hansel and Gretel but more cute and with music and rhythm.

Really cool concept and really well executed! I think I was having some issues with it going in and out of sync (even though I'm on chrome) but it was still fun. I also think that a visual indicator of when you should press the button would be nice, since (especially with the possible sync issue) it wasn't always clear how exactly the presses matched to the beat

Developer

Thanks for the comment :) The beat indicator was one of the challenge we faced, we the icon going grey and a change in the animation we thought it is clearer now on when to move but still not perfect. There is also the little words (good, perfect, miss) but maybe we could give less subtle hints on the tempo with a karaoke timeline or something like that.

Great idea, rhythm games are very cool, maybe try to better communicate that you can dig through sand, and try a bit better show when you should click. Overall solid game

Absolutely great original concept for a game! Solid aesthetic, everything works together, easy to get used to, and a funny little dark story to accompany. Juicy as hell too! I did have some issues where the music would desync with the hits when you die, so it was harder to pick up that slack, but that might just be part of the gameplay at that point, like dying in hotline miami and getting less of a rhythm of the room, but still being able to pull it off. Though HM doesn't require you to hit your steps to the beat x) great game overall tho, real impressed!

Thanks a lot :) A nice comment on a rhythm game by someone named "Audio Withdrawal" can only be a very good sign that we made something nice :p

Really neat idea with lots of juice. I really think the wolves brought down the core concept. The idea of making your way of the bodies of the fallen is interesting, but when I knew a wolf was inescapable - there was no point to continue. I may as well keep dying until there is a realist opportunity to escape the wolves. It ended up making when I could actually play the level design feel arbitrary.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment :) Actually the wolf is escapable, when you do 5 consecutive correct beats, it has a little animation a freeze for one beat but it is not as clear as it should maybe (In easy mode, the wolf will stop just before eating you, except if you go to the tile where the wolf is standing).

On previous versions of the game the wolf was smarter (doing a manhattan distance so taking shortcuts in the grass etc...) and even harder to escape haha, but we changed it to the actual system where the wolf just "replay" your moves, only avoiding eventual loops you made.

Ohhh ok! That's good to know. I think then it would really benefit from some visual queues to show I'm affecting the wolf behavior. Some extra feedback and I'd feel much more engaged!

Really fun game! I'm terrible at rhythm games but loved all the juice.

Love the inspiration from Crypt of the Necrodancer! The music and visuals were fantastic, and the humor was spot on. The writing really added to the game's charm. However, I noticed that the beat detection during the final song was a bit off sync, which made it difficult to keep up with the moves. Still, I had heaps of fun! Really nice entry

Developer

Thanks you so much! Sad to hear about the off-beat final song, were you using a web browser?

Jam HostSubmitted(+1)

Yep I was playing on browser, it wasn't too off beat to make it unplayable, but I was pretty sure I was pressing perfectly on beat and getting only misses or "fine"

Good job !

Cool concept of moving through the level on beat. Nice twist on rhythm games!

Wow, juiciest game I have played on this game so far!
The music is so good, the gameplay mechanic fits so well, the consequences of your actions remain, it is a very good game, would do very good on android!
I would definitely play it again :D

Really funky game, the amount of effects made the game feel really juicy even if it wasn't always entirely clear for me when my input was on the beat (or i just suck x) ). It did feel really nice once u get into the rhytm. I really liked this game's interesting mechanic of clearing the way with the life of your previous iterations. Nicely executed!

Funky little game. Such wonderful parents . . . Nice use of the buddy system though.

Developer(+1)

That is why brothers and sisters were always made for.

I thought parents had kids, so they'd have someone to do the dishes, clean the house, etc. I'll have to keep this new use in mind... ;-)
