awesome look and concept. This one is one of my favorites!
Wow thank you!
Very beautiful and addictive game! Cool difficult gathering, but I just rush through all enemies. Well done!
Glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback :)
Really fun and for some reason hitting enemies felt soo rewarding.
Thank you :D
Really awesome entry!
A few of the things that stood out to me that were really well done, the game feel and visuals were spot on. The swing slowing you down was both smart cause it prevents spam and makes the gameplay more intentional, but also it adds a sense of weight to the attack. The visuals were just wonderful, not much else to say about them haha. And it had suck wonderful enemy variety. Having the HP be in world too was fantastic as well.
Things I want to note tho, I wish there was a signaling to a purpose, this could be one of two things. Either a score system to signal that its infinite and give the player a purpose of get high score. OR have a ending and clearly tell the player there is a ending, maybe with a progress percentage or level count. Its a minor nitpick but one that I do thing influenced my enjoyment.
The next thing I wanted to not is It was hard for me to tell if the dash was a dash or a melee attack, I think the reason for my confusion was that it looked like the character drew their sword during the dash.
But minor things aside this was just a very fun well executed arcade game, well done!
It's like a full review haha. Thank you :) Glad you liked it!
Yes, there is an end to the game, it is quite simple (the character just flies into the white light at the top). I agree that I need to add a progress bar so that the player can understand how close he is to the end of the game. Dash doesn't attack enemies, yes... I was just too lazy to draw another sprite without a sword.
Thanks again for the feedback and for playing!
I love the bat, he is best boi. The games was super fun to play and I liked the variety of monsters and just overall the visuals were so nice :)
Oh thank you :) Bats are cool
Bats are top tier animals hehe :)
This game is beautiful in its art and atmosphere (some haunting music would have elevated it even more). I found it to be quite difficult, but from the other comments, it seems that was the intention, so no harm there.
I would have liked some recourse for the things that chase after and fly into you. Once they get to you, it's very hard to not take damage from them multiple times. Some kind of recoil for the player that pushes them a bit away might have helped to make that feel a bit more fair.
Thank you :) I regretted that I didn't have time to create music for this game. There's no time for that right now. The enemy can be defeated by keeping a distance and starting to attack from afar. It's difficult but possible
The game first caught my eye because it looked like we had a similar idea with an auto scrolling dark wall enveloping heaven. But the gameplay focus turned out to be pretty different.
I like the way this plays, but I would prefer it if the dashing was in the direction you were moving instead of mouse direction so you didn't have to aim away from the enemies.
Nice work on the effects on the player and enemies. They give the game an unique vibe compared to the other games I've seen in the jam.
Thanks!
The need to move the mouse quickly to make a dash in the right direction... It definitely complicates the gameplay, but maybe it just makes it uncomfortable. I think it's a matter of taste.
Thanks again for your feedback and for playing :)
beautiful game, the muted palette was very nice. sound design was really nice as well. the controls felt a bit “heavy” — I think the character’s movement and attack speed in particular felt a little too low for combat. the post-hit invincibility felt really low: the creepers who follow you did three damage to me in a really short amount of time.
all in all though this was really enjoyable and beautiful. great job and thank you for sharing.
Thank you for playing and feedback :)
I hope the character's movement and attack speed didn't spoil your impression too much.
But I think that slow player is what I wanted. The game can be completed, but it's not easy. But I understand you, perhaps with a faster character, the game was more enjoyable
Thank you for your opinion
I think the art direction was outstanding. My only gripe with it is that the portals look like collectables, and I ran into the first one I saw thinking it was a shield powerup of some sort. Dodging feels great, but the attack feels a bit unsatisfying (probably due to the windup time)
Thanks for the feedback! It looks like I should to make sprite of the portals more dangerous.
And about the attacks. I specifically wanted to make them slow so that the game would be more difficult and the player would use a dash. But I understand you.
Thank you again :)
Wow! Everything is so fluid and smooth. Love it!
Great visuals and effects.
It's fun to play too! Good job!
Thanks :)
Good game. The art and the control are perfect. Well done.
Oh, thank you :)
Nice game with good aesthetics,
what i could just say is that the portals where the enemies appear look a bit like tokens that you have to collect, so i lost life on them! otherwise nice work :)
Hahah, I didn't know portals could be like this. Thank you for your feedback and for playing my game
Lovely game, missing a bit of feedback imo, but great work !
Glad you liked it. I'm sorry, but I didn't understand what you mean by "feedback"
No need to be sorry :) - I was a bit frustrated that I couldn't get information on my health or my damage for example.
If I had to give a boring example: a health bar.
Haha I wanted to add a health bar first. But I couldn't think of a place where it would look beautiful. Apart from this health bar , I didn 't have a UI at all . I didn't have time to add a timer and a progress bar (an indicator of how close the player is to the end of the game).
Hard one but fun one, great art, smooth controlls and aiming. Well done
nice angel game. the art style looks good.
Very good work!
Loved the art style and SFX sounds you use for the attacks and dash. Don't know if there's an end to the game because I died after a few waves but it's very challenging (or I'm very bad :P) .
Did you make the sprites or download them from some place?
Thank you! I'm not a professional artist, so I first just drew simple sprites and then applied the pixelation effect to the whole game
And the game has an end. Heh even I think I overdid the challenge
It's a hard game! But a fun challenge.
Some cool enemy architypes and player abilites. Nice one.
