I expected the game to have higher ratings, but oh well... It deserves them! :D

I'm happy with the results. I just updated the game following community feedback. Thanks for the overwhelmingly nice comments!

Do you plan on making a full version?

Developer(+1)

Oh, no, not at all. This is a jam project after all. I don't plan to further update the game. I just wanted to leave it nicer before moving to the next project.

Submitted(+1)

Okay... it was really good and it had very good mechanics that's why I said it lol.

But still, good luck! ^^

I like the game! The art is very good and the controls are simple!

Thank you so much!

A pretty well polished and fun game

  • I had some bugs where the robot stops moving no matter what I press
  • Art is pretty sweet
  • The sounds are repetitive for the spring and for the meow, you can use a random number generator to pick a different one each time one of those actions happen
  • A small story is always good to keep the player engaged, nice work on that
  • Simplistic and well polished throughout
  • The cat moves too slow
  • The robot and cat both have very good character design
  • A good concept for a puzzle game
  • The puzzles are all good but sometimes a little too many steps to complete them

Overall a pretty great game, would be awesome to see it expanded and improved in the future!

Thanks for the feedback; we appreciate it. Can you further explain those bugs where the robot wouldn't move? TEEVI only starts/stops if it's grounded. Maybe that's counter-intuitive and should be either explicitly told to the player or changed.

  • appears game missed the deadline, should have contacted Jonas to open up a late submission (looks like the linked upload was uploaded a day late - file was uploaded and updated the day after submissions closed)
  • the art looks good
  • music works for a game jam, just enough, not annoying to listen to for a while
  • the ‘really long climb/walk’ to get the double spring feels poor, there isn’t much other then just time burning going on there
  • good to have the restart option as that same level you could soft lock the level
  • said level sucks if you do because of the long ‘walk’ to that first spring to collect.
  • I think the jam game was long enough to fully explore the mechanic
  • the collision to spring was bigger then I was expecting, making it hard to collect the spring without accidentally jumping on it.

Thank you so much for your valuable feedback

The art was great! I also liked the puzzles. I think you nailed your idea :)

You know, if you want me to nitpick, i would only say that make the button grab range a bit longer, i sometimes ended up jumping accidentally while grabbing them. Again, this is nitpicking.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your input! It's not nitpicking; it's totally valid criticism. There's a design issue there. Picking up the springs can be infuriating. We will work on fixing that after the jam.

The art of the bot and the cat is so beautifully cute <3 Nice puzzles! I like your game very much, one of the best so far in terms of art of this jam and I played as of now round about 150 :D Very good job, even with the bugs :)

Adorable! Beautiful and coherent graphics and juicy sounds. Especially hearing the bouncy sounds and meowing makes me happy. Colours are super nice too!

It's also interesting level design and good integration of the theme.

I LOVE THE ART, so cute and the animations and level design is incredible, great work :)

Thanks ! :)

I liked this puzzle platformer. The puzzles aren’t hard (except using that tricky double spring), graphics and music are charming and most importantly, you collaborate with an AI. Truly a solid entry for me. Congratulations!

thank you for your kind words!

Nice and simple puzzle game where a cute little meow could bring freedom to a poor little bot.  Well Done!

This game is amazing just for having the cat . In all serious though this game is super well-made.

Super polished game,  teevi is the cutest thing ever!

Could speed things up tho, I found completing the puzzles very slow, even after knowing the solution.

Also make it so the player can only voluntarily bounce on the springs, I happen to bounce everytime I tried to pick it up.

Overall great game!

Developer(+1)

I definitely agree there's a design issue there. Picking up the springs can be infuriating. We tried to tackle that by trying different approaches, e.g., making the cat unable to use springs if it's not carrying one. But everything felt weird.

I think the best approach would have been to make the cat ignore spring collisions while "crawling" using [S/Down Arrow], but we didn't have time to implement it.

Thanks for playing our game!

It stuck :( .  Nice game, few bugs here and there.

Developer(+1)

I'm so sorry :(

Another user reported TEEVI getting stuck in exactly the same spot. Hitboxes are a bit janky, definitely have to work on that soon.

That's the last-level exit door! Thanks for playing it ❤️
