How does your game fit the theme?
I interpreted the theme as taking risky actions with the hope that it will produce a good outcome. In mechanical terms, you sacrifice your limited number of armies against unbeatable foes with the hope that you'll find the Overmind as a result.

Nice strategy game, took me some games to get my first win. Nice presentation aswell, I like the old Fire Emblem vibes!

Interesting game. Similar in concept to the board game Stratego.
A really cool game, feels pretty polished for only two days and one person. It may not be as closely tied to the theme as other games, but I like the interpretation and the concept is quite unique
The music is really cool and the art is nice, though the green and orange are a bit too bright in comparison to everything else
I found myself changing my mind about the placement of my knights a few times, it would be really nice to be able to undo your moves before ending a turn. And just a thought, when an enemy gets to your base and a knight is there, maybe it would be better if it attacked the knight first and then on the next turn attacked your base

Yeah, the green and orange were placeholders I just plain forgot to swap out. *facepalm* As for the undo, I wanted to add it but ran out of time; I agree though, this kind of game definitely needs it. Or at least a move and then confirm.
Also, the enemy should have attacked the knight before the base. So if it didn't, that's a bug. Whoops. Thanks for pointing it out.

Very unique. Feels a couple strategy elements away from eating hours of my time. Took me a moment to figure out exactly how to use the flames. Didn't feel like a mastermind when I beat it, but enjoyed my time nonetheless.
Nice concept
A creative interpretation of the theme, and the pixel are is great! I had a bit of difficulty understanding how to play, until I realised that you are *supposed* to sacrifice a number knights - then it all fell into place :) Its an interesting concept that I think has a lot of potential as an asymmetrical board game. Great stuff :)
Very interesting concept, lots of fun to play, but mostly after 2-3 games to really grasp what you're supposed to do. Still, it seems to be quite a bit luck-based, as where the Overmind spawns determines how easy the game is. Nice level-design, more levels would make it less learnable, but this is a game jam so no critique there.
The music was fitting, but the sounds seemed to have been going off in a random order which made it funny sometimes. The pixel art and the overall design was nice and readable, except for the flames that were behind the knights. It was hard to determine whether there was still a flame on a knight or it was just their feathers.
Lastly I encountered a bug in the download version, where I couldn't move the units I placed in the first round. Even the enemies couldn't kill them so they just remained on-screen. A restart fixed this issue.
Overall great game, good to play something that isn't really skill-based, but stategic.
I was planning on having a thing where if the first enemy you enter combat with has the Overmind it rerolls into another one to avoid it being too easy, but never got around to implementing it (and it's not a very foolproof method, so probably needed to think more anyway).
As the for empowered knight sprite readability, that's good feedback, thanks. I originally had knight icons without the fancy feathers and things; only added that later. Might need to go back to them if I actually update the game after the jam.

Awesome color palette. Great use of chokepoints in the level design
Really polished for 48 hours, great job! It was a little difficult to start since I didn't really know what to do, but it played well as a strategy/board game once I got the hang of things. Really unique interpretation of the theme as well! I could easily see this expanded to include more maps, powerups, and player units!
I had a hard time understanding how the gameplay works, so sadly I couldn't get the full experience but I did enjoy the sounds and the pixel art a lot!

Its a nice game. Could be much funnier if you had more maps.
