Fun game! I like the blue print look!

Submitted

I like the blueprint style of the game its really unique. Love the big soul-piercing eyes of the dice and i appreciate the diagram sitting in the top left.

I really like the minimalist approach to this one! The graphics are flat, the BGM is a basic atmospheric loop and the gameplay is very simple, but for a jam that makes it very clean and easy to understand! Even then, you didn't skimp on the quality-of-life features, like easy undo and restart buttons! And I really like the framing of it as a heist. When I got to the "Oh, dear" level, that gave me a good chuckle, haha.

Top stuff!

Wow love the heist concept! We also explored a similar idea, but I really liked the alarm system mechanic you added along with the challenging puzzles! Awesome work!

Really cool puzzle atmosphere and a great game fee!

Nice job!

Developer

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!

Nice and clever puzzle game with a very nice way to communicate ideas with the level design. As someone who has built a completely different game, but focusing on the same core problem (getting a die to roll a certain number of pips on a certain square) i really appreciate how you made player understand the two basic maneuvers (the 3X3 flip and the 2X2 shuffles) by forcing them to do them themselves. I suggest losing the eyes on the cube. They add nothing to the game, and distract a bit. Other than that, an amazing Game Jam entry. I use Unity and Unreal in my daily work, but this and a couple of other games in this jam have made me decide to give Godot a shot.

Developer

Wow, high praise indeed! That's actually such a useful point about the eyes; I've sort of realised since publishing it that I'm not all that happy with the tone of the game, but I'd only really been thinking about the writing and sound until you mentioned that.

And yeah, Godot's a blast! Don't get me wrong, it definitely has some weird and unexpected limitations, but hey - I'm a sucker for a good bit of open source software!

Great idea. Fantastic execution!

My only nitpicks as others mentioned is the difficulty does seem to scale really fast in those first four levels and the die layout visual could be a little more intuitive.

Thank you for blessing us with an undo feature! Those are always a pain to implement for me. The puzzles are very clever too, especially the one with the three columns of security (I got to the end with the wrong die positioning and had to backtrack).

The artwork/theming/audio is spot on (kinda gives me DEFCON vibes).

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy that one with the columns - it's totally the one I'm most proud of ahaha

I couldn't get past the 4th level, but it seems cool. I do wish it eased into some mechanics instead of dropping you right in to the alarms.

Developer

Ah, sorry to hear that! Figured I'd get to the alarms quickly to stand out against the other puzzlers using the same movement mechanics, but I realise that it's quite an abrupt introduction. Will upload some hints in the description when I get the chance!

Neat game, liked the style you went with, felt very Oceans Eleven-y

Developer

Thank you! At first I was thinking about doing a pure stealth game with the same mechanics, and the aesthetic just stuck ahah

This take on puzzle rolling is really nice. It was a bit difficult to get through levels because of no hint of what the next side is. I super dig the minimal color palette and overall clean visuals. Nice job.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to put a little key for what the next side is in the top left corner, but I now realise it was a bit subtle - maybe made the visuals a bit *too* clean in that instance lmao

The mechanic and concept were really cool and I found the game really enjoyable. Great work!

Developer

Glad you liked it!

From all games with similar concepts, yours was the most dificult but also most rewarding to complete. Also, nice touch the CTRL+Z. Most don't used it and this is such a good tool on the alarm levels

Developer

Thanks so much, that's honestly so nice to hear - glad the challenge was worth it!

Really enjoyed this game! The presentation is nice and the mechanic is very fun! Though, I didn't understand the "<" rule 0.0 but I managed my way to the end anyway. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! And sorry about that, that's totally on me - I'm so bad for leaving game jam tutorials to the last minute ahaha

The game is really polished and well made. Really enjoy my time solving the puzzle. I would like to see random numbers when rolling or based on the dice face up instead of from 1 to 6. It makes the game harder but it is more like a dice to me.

Developer

Oooh, thank you so much!

I got stuck on the second level for like ten minutes. I saw a similar game is 3d and I could wrap my head around that but I just couldn't visualise this. Your game looks great though and I am sure there's some people who are way more into this type of game then I am.

Developer

Ahh, very fair! I was definitely a bit concerned about it seeming similar to other games, especially since one of the main mechanics that differentiates it only comes in in level 4 - will mb put some hints in the description later today

Really nice execution of the sokoban style dice idea -- loved the heist blueprint theme!  Think that the net in the top left would have been more helpful to see around the dice -- would have liked to know what my next move would be instead of having to find out or memorize the dice sides

Developer(+1)

Thank you, that's really helpful!Making the levels+controls more intuitive is one of the main things I'm gonna work on after the jam

Submitted(+1)

Art style is really consistent and feels nice to look at but the game is really hard lol.

Developer(+1)

Ahh, my bad! Which level(s) did you get stuck on, out of interest?

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Level 1 and 2 felt normal in terms of difficulty but I spent like 15 minutes trying to beat 3 and just couldn't do it.

Edit: immediately after typing  this I went to go try it again and was able to do it in a minute 💀...

Developer(+1)

Woo!! Hope you like the rest of it ahaha

Fun game!

Love the vibe of this! Really cool puzzle atmosphere and a great game feel. Would love a victory sound que after finishing a level but understand this might clash with the understated feel of the game. Great work!

Developer

Thanks so much!
