Este juego comienza sintiéndose de terror, cambia a ser de suspenso y termina siendo un drama muy emotivo. Fue un gran viaje de emociones. Muy buen juego!

I'm confused! Why it also tags Resident Evil?! But no weapons! Because, Resident Evil is a FPS Horror Game!!!

Damn that was emotional, the ending just makes you feel pure sadness

Will it have updated games? Or are you doing another project or game?

I’m currently working on another project at the moment, this was a game jam entry so it’s less than perfect. At some point I might revisit the idea and remake the game from the ground up with more content and stuff to do, but for now the new project is taking priority

If you’re interested in following progress I’m posting updates on my Twitter

Will there be, "The Keeper 2: Deja Vu"?

Possibly, this game seemed pretty unanimously liked so I don’t see why not… Currently working on another project at the moment though so it wont be for a while. If you interested in following progress on that then you can jump on my Twitter, posting a few screenshots of it on there recently

Awesome story and a good ending :)

An interesting story which scared me more than it should have.

Really sucks. =(
Empty on original ideas.
Motion blur inside the ps1 style horror game.
no negative. keep doing what you doing!

Incredible game. Games don't make me feel emotional often but this one did. Also loved the small easter eggs placed around the game refering to other games. (Dead Space ftw). Thank you for creating this amazing experience.

Nice game. Am i wrong, or there a person sit in a boat at the end? When i play second time, i don see him there.

When I saw this game, among the literal thousands of ITCH.IO horror games, I just looked at it and said to myself: oh, another PS1 spooky game! When I decided to install it (hesitantly, of course) I was met with one of the most concise and beautiful stories from an indie PS1 horror game I have seen in a long, long time. Spoilers from here on out.

The story was...sad, but also hopeful. From what I can gather, a man was drinking so heavily after his wife died, so much so that the daughter, neglected, took care of herself and wished to be apart of the father's life again.

She then ended her own life.

Afterwards, the Keeper decides to close up shop (figuratively, of course) and remove the light bulb from his cursed tower. He leaves the island, neglecting it.

He returns God knows how long later, only to see the place in a state of disrepair, the memories within him so far suppressed it hurts his very soul so much so he can barely remember anything other than the name "Jessica." This is beautiful on so many levels, and the ending, whilst I predicted it, was still a bit of a page turner and kept me invested.

I would one hundred percent recommend this short, 25 minute to 30 minute long game to absolutely anyone. The amount of effort you put into this surely shows how much you love this project. I hope to see more like this from you soon.

On a more critical standpoint, looking at it as a "game" and not a "interactive story", you may or may not notice some flaws. The movement isn't really ironed out as much as I would like and it feels uncomfortable to play (which might have been an aesthetic choice, I wouldn't know). This is my major issue with the game, but a smaller one is how little indication there is of where to go. I liked the small island and the aesthetic of the game so I kept playing, but I can see some issues arise when players who aren't invested in that sort of stuff might be giving up halfway through. Maybe some indication on things like the grandfather clock might have been helpful. Obviously I could have just missed something.

Finally, I think that even if it was hard for me to find the items and/or figure out where the hell to go, I think that the lack of "jumpscares" was helpful in making me not shy away from this and really proving that it's a worthwhile experience that anyone can enjoy. Also the story was just told so perfectly that I was invested without wanting to rush to just "get to the end". I also think that the difficulty of finding where the hell things are helped me immensely to really see all that the island had to offer. For instance, I would have never ever figured out about the gravestone in the side garden had it not been for me getting stuck.

Final rating? 9/10.

Bravo.

I think you missed the mark there.

It's pretty obvious that the dad killed himself, he's the skeleton in the closet. So you, the main character, as the dad, are a ghost reliving his regrets.

Interesting story.

I delayed uploading my playthrough, seeing as it was a very personal moment just after recording. I very much so liked it, it hit me really hard.

Thanks for playing man, you stay strong!

amazing game i love it

Good game! More interesting and sad than scary, but I really liked it anyway.

such a phenomenal game, a true inspiration for me, so immersive and emotional

Very atmospheric! I'd really love to see a full length game following this general style.. it was lovely and very creepy!

I will now proceed to throw my video on the pile, watch this one if you like to have your letsplay with a side of beard.

Loved the aesthetics, love lighthouses. Crazy how much atmosphere you created with so little.

This was great! I expected something scary, I got something sad. Story was well done and depressing.

Anyways I did a video on this if anyone wants to check it out I would appreciate it

Here it goes:

3rd part at 35:02 minutes and thumbnail card

that was really awesome! you guys should make this a full game.

This was depressingly well done.

The voice acting was funnily AMAZING!!

The ending has copyrighted music though. Maybe you should keep the license to the music on the web page so that it doesn't happen again?

good game emotional

Really emotional, but I couldn't find a good angle on the closet posters to get the references I'm sure were on them.

Good thing there were no jumpscares

Really enjoyed it! Got a bit stuck before realizing what to do with the dresser because I was so afraid of it lol Definitely would've loved some more spooky elements (since most of the horror was the anticipation in my head), but I really enjoyed how it turned out to be more of an emotional thriller with a somber story.

Hi, just to say that it's a great project. Could use a bit of polish here and there, but that's an amazing base for a great game! Congratulations.

Thank you very much.

Cool Game Just Crashed

Hey! I did a big roundup on a bunch of games in the jam (including yours) with some thoughts on each. Figured I'd share it here for anyone interested!

This was great! Very immersive!

This game has a really good atmosphere to be a horror game. The fog, the pixel, the  silence. But it's not, this game has only one singular jumpscare in it and it's pretty cliche as well. The thing that makes this game great is the story of it, it tells a story through all the memories and the ghosts that haunts the premise. And that story is a solemn and sad one, but simple enough that it's relatable and you could see it happening in real life everyday, that's what makes it great. This game is a 8.25/10 in my eyes. Also, I took a look at it:

Really liked the game. For a PSX game, this is high quality! I got a bit too serious with the ending that made me gave a bloody advice lmao. Anyway keep up the good work!

VERY GOOD GAME DEV

Nice work, down to the details of the mushrooms on the stumps and the dead rats. There's some little easter eggs too, which is always fun. It's simple to get through but has a few good scares and a meaningful, sad story. I enjoyed it!

Short but well-polished game with a deep story. I really liked it

Beautiful game and great story. I enjoyed it, and the end made me sad.
I also want an illustration of "Princess Pony in Raccoon City" xD

Truly a great experience. Setting and story wise, it was just the right amount of horror. Though the fear the was being portraited in the game was not the game it self but what an action can make to the people we love. Love the twist and I'm expecting more great games.. Great Job!!
