Ranked from 36 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How did you incorporate the theme and lore?
For the theme the system being broken is the computer being attacked by the viruses you have to fight off. The silicon sword is the thing placed into your hand in the first half of the lore and the thudding is the final bosses attacks at the end.

Hey! Sorry I don't have time to do a full written out review, but I did play your game on stream which can be found here(Check the description for timestamps to all the games if you want to just see yours):

Thanks for playing my game! Even if you didn't make it too far, it was really helpful to see someone actually play it.

I see now how so many people are having lag issues because  of the webgl build, and once the jam is over I plan to make a standalone build for people who are running into issues with that. I'm thinking  that's what caused the problem with the ladder, I have the trigger for it set up so you autograb the ladder but I didn't think of lag interfering with that and adding a way to do it manually just in case. I've already got that fixed which'll be added in a post jam patch I'm putting together.

But thanks again for playing and streaming it so I could watch! Really beneficial

No problem! The game looked and sounded great. The controls responded really well when it didn't lag out. It also doesn't help when streaming and trying to play web builds since it eats up that oh so precious bandwidth lol I really didn't want to get past the first screen but due to trying to get through every persons game, makes the timeline pretty short. I don't penalize my scoring for these types of issues though. They are typically impossible to account for especially for a game jam time frame. Kep up your efforts though, I think you have real potential as a dev!

Awesome aesthetic and fun to play. I have to agree with some of the other critique in that the controls feel a little sticky.

Great entry!  Really loved the art.  The audio was awesome and fit really well, the blue level song was my favorite.  I really liked the animations on the attack, and it was sweet that it doubled as an air dash. Tight controls.  The ladders reminded me of the nes mega man games. Some real tight platforming sections that felt great to get through, like dodging enemies while traversing ladders.  My constructive criticism is it would be nice if I could air dash backwards, had to set up which direction I was moving before I jumped / got boosted, which is still cool in its own right.   Great work, really cohesive game.

Thanks for making this game! I had a blast going through this with many trial and errors I took to beat this masterpiece. The art and music was captivating, the gameplay was very long and had so many neat game mechanics to explore with a variety of different enemies which I loved a ton! This really felt like a fleshed out game and its crazy given that it was only a week to make this. I will say that there was some issues I did came across however. When the player dies in the bouncing room it takes a while for the dead body to reach the surface to then respawn. Also, when the spiky enemy hits me, I get sent flying in the opposite direction for quite some time, I don't know if that's a bug or a feature, but I thought it would be something worth mentioning. Lastly, sometimes (well at least on my end) the sword accidently gets activated out of the blue and sometimes the sword won't activate when I'm trying to hit the enemies. Overall this game felt and look so good that I'm just shocked that it only took a week to make and this type of style is something I would enjoy playing on a chill night. Awesome work!

Nice game but I felt if you use up arrow for jump,
It would be good!

Visually and overall presentation   outstanding! Controls could use a little refining is my only complaint. Feels like a delay from releasing/pressing movement   to    when the character starts/stops moving.  Then again that could be the browser version...had issues with that on mine (as well as horrendous  audio glitches)    so made it an exe instead.

Art and animation on point. I had to bow out when the fast-moving light orbs show up because the lack of air control makes me fall down every time. I would love to play a post jam version to finish it up and check out the boss. :)   Great job. I'll follow your itch profile so I can play any post-jam version you put out.
