I really like the idea!  Trying to manage both snakes at once is challenging, but the trucks move slow enough that it never felt frustrating or unfair.  The power-ups are a nice way to shake things up as well, although they never really changed the way I played.  The fading effect on the trucks when you switch snakes is a really nice touch that helps a lot with keeping track of what is where, and I think the game would be much more frustrating to play without it.  The game is pretty simple, but the concept is executed effectively and makes for a fun experience.  I think the game has the potential to be really interesting if you added things like new obstacles or more game-changing powerups.  Great work!

Developer

Yeah, at the beginning of the development, we have the obstacle moving waaayyyy faster and it was really no fun at all. And, yes, we had thought of adding some obstacle and powerup, but we have a lack of times (as everyone, I think)

This is definitely one of the most fun ones that I've played and the idea is really great.

Thanks for you’re feedback

Cute rats, I like them

Really great job, this game is like rubbing your belly and patting your head at the same time!

Adding different powerups was a great idea! Is there a mice buffet in the end as a reward? :D

Developer

Who knows?

That was very fun and cute! great idea!

Cool game! My highscore is 1227 :D. I like the use of powerups since they reward movement. Maybe some obstacles that both snakes have to dodge (ideally on the sides of the path!) would make me move even more :). Well done!

Developer(+1)

That's a fun idea. There could be obstacles that are less random and more rythmic, and both snakes should have to avoid them.

This was really cool, I liked the concept a lot.

My main issue with this is that the choices made for the up/down controls are really bad. I saw a comment in here that says you can use more traditional controls in fullscreen, but 1 Why isn't that info listed more clearly in the description? and 2 Even if the traditional arrow keys couldn't be used due to page scroll issues, the alternate keys chosen to move the snakes just don't seem like the best choice.

Developer

I understand your point, we just realized the spacebar was affecting the web page 5 mins before the deadline :/ So we made up a solution, and since we are AZERTY devs.....

Ahhh. Yeah, I can understand that. That must have been really stressful so last minute, it's a miracle you got something else working at all in that time.

And also, the arrow keys still works, however you have to play in fullscreen mode for them not to mess with the web page :)

Arrow keys is my preferred way of playing the game!

This was a great concept. Once I got used to swapping to figure out where the trucks were it was super fun, I love having to memorise where loads of things are on screen at once. The only thing I would say is to remap the key for changing snake further right on the keyboard, then it would be easier to play with two hands (at least for those of us with chunky fingers).

Developer

When you are in full screen mode, you can use the arrow key and the space bar. It wasn’t possible to do it outside of the full screen because it made the page move.

Ah apologies, I missed that. Thanks for letting me know.

Developer

I don’t think we have written it somewhere. :/

Love the mice cheering ^^

Developer (1 edit)

Yes, about the lore for the mice cheering, it’s because they encourage the snake to dodge the trucks. Or it’s: “the mice are happy that their predators are being killed by trucks”. You can see it in the both ways ;)

Neat concept! Took a second to realize I want to avoid the same color trucks. Good job!
