Animations are great, the music is fun, and the gameplay is nice.

Great Idea. Good aesthetic. Really liked the brain bug design.
BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.
It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.
What in the name of game jams? 300 ratings?
This aside, the game is actually well polished. Good level design, animations, art is very well done, SFX and music great. Movement feels slow and clunky though. The spikes, they are also annoyingly but seemingly conveniently too large. No pause menu or level select is also annoying if I want to replay this some time later.
Overall, good game. 300 ratings and 188 comments a bit sus tho.
Holy crap how do you have so many ratings? Are you famous? What's the secret?
Since I live in Europe night begins earlier for me, so I handed mine in quickly. I am in the middle of a testweek so I wanted to have a free sunday (without working on the jam) and that's why I handed mine in really early, I honestly didn't expect to get this much ratings but it sure is an experience.
Also being on the top early makes people check out your game, a thumbnail that shows what the game is about but still is a bit weird/mysterious makes people wonder "What is this about? Two brain halves?".
Anyways, I'll play your game, feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks for clarifying, I'd never have thought submitting early would be any advantage whatsoever, as I assumed most people would be focused on their own game during the submission window.
I also personally don't sort by submission order as I would assume that entries submitted earlier would have less content and would be lower quality (although your game is clearly an exception to that!).
I enjoyed playing, I like that it gives context to two things joining together (a brain needs two halves), and wasn't just "join two people together in the middle". I also like how the brain looks like it went from being sideways (with the eye facing outwards) to facing forwards when the two parts meet (looking at the camera). A tiny detail that entertained me probably more than it has any right to.
Some nicely designed puzzles, although occasionally it felt more like luck as I'd try the same technique again and ended up making it that time!
Overall, a very well polished game, and I think your earlybird tactic might just get you a spot in the final video!
Really great level design, would be even better with some clearer hitboxes. The walkthrough is super helpful and it's amazing that this was done in one weekend!
the spritework is amazing!! and the concept is really solid and creative
