Good game and interesting mechanics, however it does not look like a Gameboy game to me.

Developer

Thank you! I feel like it the lack of detail that might give the impression of something other than the game boy, but I used the game boy colours and kept the art simple like super hot, but I would like to hear what I should of done different.

It looks like an Atari 2600 game, not a Gameboy Game

Really cool idea, great work on the assets and presentation. The enemies seem to move a bit too fast for it to feel like your own movement or not moving has any effect on the speed of their actions tho. Great work! Keep it up!

Thank you. Yeah I didn't wanna make it too slow I went with a little more fast passed style considering its a jam game, but I get what you mean.

Great time playing it, also the screen effect :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I was really happy with the way the screen effect text came out.

Fun game! I like how the gameplay is straightforward, it tells me what to do next in each scene but is still a fun challenge to try and accomplish it.

Well done- liked the game play - Would have liked a intro screen telling me the controls.

I liked the game! But there were some glitches in the game, sometimes I couldn't shoot and fight. If you want, you can rate my game.

Developer

I'll take a look into them glitches and I've  already rated  "VVV"

I really enjoyed the idea and how it was executed! It's hard, but I've never played the original, I suppose it's also quite difficult xD. Good stuff, keep it up!

Developer

I definitely recommend playing the original if that's the case. Glad you enjoyed it!

I like the idea, I didn't really feel like time went quite slow enough when you stayed still, maybe the bullet speed is just slightly too fast imo. Good Gameboy  vibes tho

Developer

Yeah, I messed around with the slow-mo for a while because making it closer to the original made the game feel to slow IMO, the bullets were quite fast but I felt that kinda gave a sense of time to take it slow or you'll die.

I liked the game, a bit hard. The things that I would consider is to destroy the bullet when it exits game frame, as I was killing enemies even when they are not in game view. I would like to see how the game would turn up if you had more time ;) Good job.

Developer

I'll remember that for next time thanks for the advice!

would love for you to polish this up more!
(better sense of time scaling and more dynamic character for those neo moments)

Developer(+1)

Couldn't agree more! If I ever return to the slow-mo mechanic ill make sure to do just that.

Really cool visual effects and captures the original game in a really cool manner!
