To be honest, I thought that was sonic when I first looked at it. You did a good job making it fit into a NES style.

This is so beautiful ;_; The vivid colours and happy animations are really appealing. But is there really a way to get past stage 3? ^^; I lost all my lives there... getting stuck so early. Or are there only 3 stages, maybe? ~ For some reason it reminded me more of Sega Mega Drive than NES. Maybe the palette.
Here's level 3 passed just for you :D It has 10 levels. I hope you can beat them all ;). Also most of the levels are recreation of the original level layout, so if you are stuck, you can check walkthrough of original on youtube. Thanks so much for kind words.

I genuinely had so much fun playing this. The way the music abruptly stops when you lose was funny. This game has a strong identity. My personal favorite game in the jam to play so far (5/5 for entertainment here!). I do think some of the effects are a little too smooth to be NES, but even so, how could I complain? Great game.

This was fun! Nice work. Snakebird is some kind of abomination of nature, but he's sure cute. I died a little inside every time I had to destroy him.
I have to admit, it took me about 5 minutes to figure out the second level, and now I see the complete solution in gif on your game page...
