As part of itch.io refinery, we released an “Exclusive content” system allowing you to create limited quantity rewards for buyers. Today we’ve launched some new functionality to the system to make it even more useful:

In the past, any reward you created needed to be at or above the minimum price of the project. Starting now you can set any price for the reward.
By creating a reward with a price lower than your project’s price combined with a limited quantity, you can give the first set of people to buy a discount. Rewards come with any files and external keys that would be included in a regular purchase.

It’s also possible to set the reward price to 0. Anyone with an itch.io account will be able to claim the reward while there’s quantity available. Because claiming a reward also grants access to all the project files, they’ll be permanent owners if they manage to grab the reward.
Our guide on exclusive content has been updated to reflect these new features.
Those are the updates to rewards. Let’s take a quick look at hosting a sale:

If you host a sale that’s 100% off (making your project free), there’s a new option to allow people to claim ownership. Anyone who claims the game will permanently have it in their library, and they’ll have access to all updates.
Enjoy

Definetedly for my first 50 players!

I want to give discounts ONLY to my Patreon supporters but right now it looks like anyone can go to my item's page and take advantage of the sale--limited quantity or 'early bird' discounts doesn't help because again, any rando on my item's page can take advantage of it. How do you make sales exclusive?
We currently don’t have a way to attach a sale condition to Patreon status. You can, however, make a coupon code and share that privately in a Patreon update. It would be possible for someone to share that coupon code, but you can request that they don’t, and end the sale/change the code if you feel like it’s getting distributed.
maybe instead of having it able to give discounts ONLY to patreon instead some system that allows a 1 time useage coupon code to be sent to someones email then regardless of what platform you use you can just supply a mailing list (idk say in csv) and it will send a 1 time code to everyone on that mailing list then if you have patreon you just download your mailing list and use that to send out coupons if you have go fund me or some crowdsourcing page you can use that to send out coupons to people
